I'm just letting the other cruiser guys from New York that, this Sunday me and my friends are going to hit the trails at a nearby place called "MTA".. not sure what the name really is. An you're all invited. Its muddy.. But its pretty big, I have yet to explore it all.
What I don't know is what the deal is with the DEC. I've gone there twice with quads running circles around me with no show from the DEC. I've heard old stories about them cracking down, but no one has heard a thing in last couple years. They only come out during hunting season. Now I know this aspect doesn't sound appealing, and I feel bad I don't have a better place (yet) but it is something, if you're nearby or just in the mood for an hour trip just come by.
So far I have my cruiser, my sister's FJ, my friends 4Runner, friends K10, and my friends SJ. And maybe even more.
Its right off of Interstate 84, exit 5. Here's a google maps link:
to: 1 Henry Henning Dr, Montgomery, NY 12549 - Google Maps

We would meet up somewhere nearby, probably in Newburgh. If you plan on coming, let me know here and I'd love to have you. The trip is just go out around 11am and wheel till 7 or 8 and drive home.

Here are pictures from last year:

Let me know if this is a problem.

You should really just put in some time, find out the owner of the property (go to the town assesors office) and get permission.

Daves place is about 40 minutes north up the thruway from newburgh.
Can you show me on Google Maps?

sorry, you can only go there if you attend with the club (we go twice a year on an invite from the owner) and he would rather we not give out the location (because he lives there)

I believe we're going on Labor day weekend, perhaps Jon, Mark, or Dave Crum can give you more details on that.

Rob is correct. Dave is a charter member of the GCLC and opens up his propery twice a year for club members. Once we confirm with Dave we will put out an email with the information on the Yahoo Groups list for Labor Day weekend.

Sorry if I'm intruding here, I don't mean to be, just wondering. :whoops:
But I really gotta join the GCLC.. and the TCLA.. but I don't have the cash flow just yet to keep even a small bill down just yet. I have property here too which is perfectly legal, but there isn't much to wheel on. I live on a farm and we have dozens of trails, good for a trail ride but I've been around these trails lickety split with little effort really. I got like 100 acres of woods back here but not enough for a whole trip.
I'll let you guys know if I just join already. I've really been meaning to. But mostly during the year I'll be in Rochester for College, so I can't really do trips far from there (i.e. close to home) since Rochester is 5 hours from my house. Maybe I'll find some Canadians to wheel with when I'm up there haha.:hhmm:
Thanks for the info guys.
Here's a video from the trip, we're going again this upcoming sunday:
