The reason I said research is because everything you are asking has already been answered in more than one thread. Yes they will fit (as Nick said) but yes it will take modification and might be a pain. The necessary mods (arguably) for the LC is a 2.5" susp lift, 1" wheel spacers, TC UCAs, adjusted bump stops, adjusted turn stops, removed or modified sway bars for best results, trimming the pinch weld, optional regear, and the optional 1" body lift. The only thing you are asking about is the suspension lift, which will allow the tires to fit which is what Nick addressed, but you will have rubbing if that's all you do. No question about it.

Is that true with 285/75/18? Or is rubbing only a problem with 315s? I have seen some people claim the 285s are fine, but the 315s rub.

I run 285s without lift. No rub. 295s will give you some rub without lift. 315s will rub like crazy if you're crazy enough to run them without any modification.

But you are running them on 16s? I am curious how the 285s on 18s do.

The 295s look good too. Thanks for the pics.

FF,

Again, I want to retain the AHC for now. Saves me some time which i dont have now. This is my GFs LX. Not mine! She really wants 35s... i will eventually do a full suspension for her if she wants but not for another year or so. So basically if i can get away with the 35s for her I would like to do so.. This truck will not be offroaded much during this time. But i don't want her to have to resize when she gets a lift. This isn't a what is the best solution for 35s thread. This is more of a what can i get away with for now. Thanks for the input.

They'll fit.

I spoke with Slee this morning... The answer is.........

Its NOT recommended!!!! Will they fit... more or less with some adjustments :hillbilly:

They have mounted 35s on stock cruisers with AHC.

For the amount of offroading she will do in the next year this will carry her until the lift.

Thanks for the help guys!

LCphils truck looks great with those, 35 11.50x 18s as referenced in the link above ... I actually like the slightly thinner tire look. Im pretty sure im going to go with the Toyo AT IIs in a 35.

I tried to take a moment to document my personal experience on the topic. See below image.

Here is the link to the Google Docs spreadsheet for easier viewing:

"They", "it", "them", whatever... what size are you talking about?

Now thats a helpful spreadsheet:cheers: Thank you sir!!!

thats great Sonk - can you expand on the "frame next to front tires"? Since you're still running the 35s its not too bad?

When the front tires are fully turned to a one side (either side) the sidewall of the "inner tire" makes contact with the side of the frame (i.e., if turning sharp left, the rear, inner sidewall, of the left front tire will contact the frame.)

No, it has not been a real issue, but it will rub of all the paint covering the frame (I've repainted that portion 10x, but it seems to always rub off...) Limiting the turn stops could solve this. I've chosen not to do that because the turning radius is much more critical for many tight trail situations in my use.

In practice, I double that this portion will ever have issues with rust because it is constantly being rubbed clean with the tire (rust proofing has ben the motivation behind my futile attempts to repaint--I have not seen any evidence of surface rust at this point, it is nice and shiny all the time.)

EDIT:

Btw, I would not say that I'm running 35"s any more. I think the 295/70R18 are more of a 34" tire... a bit wider than the 35" I ran before, but not as tall...

Tire size and AHC override install

So i ordered the tires and completed the install of the diff drop, over ride and tires. Tires look great!!! I love the skinny look. As for the placement of the over ride switch- The 100s don't have a lot of blank areas like the 80... That was really annoying but forced me to figure out something even cleaner. I decided to use the bezel above the steering wheel and placed the switch just to the left of the key. I figured it wouldn't get bumped accidentally and its easy to locate. The over ride switch doesn't have any mounting brackets so I siliconed some velcro to the bottom side of the switch and top of the bezel.

Next i drilled holes to accomodate the light and switch. The rest of the install went smoothly except for me making a lazy step and not checking the polarity of the 12V+ ignition power...

What did you do to the AHC (or your rig) to get this look in a setup? & Is this with AHC in override or normal? and what size tire is this? Just curious. Looks really good : )

Follow up? Hows the setup working out? Thanks

Wow, that's nice. I know that's AHC, but how much lift do you estimate that is? And what kind of bumper is that?
