So I've been working on a set of front brakes along the lines of my 16" rim brakes.
These brakes use a 14" wilwood Rotor with the caliper from a 200 series Land Cruiser
This is a completely bolt on system right down to the banjo bolt on the brake caliper.
The rim used to design to is a 17x9 0 offset Raceline Rim. There seems to be room to use a narrower rim but nothing other than the mentioned rim has been verified.

One of the design goals was to use a 17" rim and I run a 35" tire. I wanted the tire's side wall to be as tall as possible and still fit the brakes. The down side of this approach is that the gap between the back of the caliper and that of the rim is rather small. The potential problem comes from stones possibly bouncing up and lodging themselves between the inner surface of the rim and that of the stationary caliper. This can quickly ruin a rim and your day. The obvious solution is a dust shield. Easier said than done as they say. I long gave up looking for a solution to the dust shield issue when by chance I saw a marketplace listing and eventually created an acceptable dust shield.

At this point everything bolts together and fits within the constrains of the 80 series knuckle. The caliper is slightly out of position and a new bracket is in the works. I'm optimistic that I'll have the new brakes mounted and tested nest week. Attached are some pics of the current assembly.

I’m sure the Googz may have the answer but what’s the fun in that? Are the LC105 series knuckles and related brake parts different than a 93-97 LC80? Just for curiosity sakes. Also anyone know if the 105 retained the vacuum booster or did it get the same as what’s on a LC100?

Following. I did a similar "factory big brake" setup on my SAS 89 4Runner using 1st gen Tundra calipers and rotors. Substantially improved braking performance. I also upgraded the master cylinder to a Tacoma master.
 
I did something similar with front rotors and tried the T100 MC. I liked it but eventually went back to the 80 MC and felt it gave better pedal feel and overall braking. LMK what you think on your MC choice.
It depends on the caliber you are using. The larger the caliper the larger the MC for the most part. Putting the T100 MC on a stock caliper would increase pedal effort to stop the truck in the same fashion as before.

The 200 calipers have very large pistons and need the T100 to help manage pedal range.
 
So when I started this project I bought some calipers and some pads to mock up the setup . Today I ordered some Hawk pads and decided to bring back the carquest pads that I used for design.

The local store could scan the receipt and since they were bought from a NH store they asked me to head over there to return them. NH has no sales tax.

I stopped by the NH store and they had the same scanning issue and eventually manually input the code. The cleark said he needed the managers approval for the return.

Manager came by and explained to me that the return policy was 45 days and these pads were bought in Nov 11th. But he would except the return but asked me to abide by that policy in the future. I thanked him and went on my way.

They were bought Nov. 11th .....2021

So I've been doing a bunch of tuning on the bracket. Tightening up the tolerances and more accurately positioning the caliper depth and it's alignment to the rotor.
drawings have been sent out for quotes.
I'm leaving for a couple pf weeks and will install and test when I return.
 
Had my first ride and testing the new brakes and holy S#1T!. I wasn't sure what to expect but honestly can't imagine it being any better.

Marrying the T100 MC to the J200 calipers works extremely well. Initially, light pedal pressure will begin braking and as pedal pressure increases, the braking increases to a point were I'd say it's kin to a panic stop without loosing an abundance of pedal distance.

I have 315 Toyo open country AT3 tires less that a year old and not driven that much. During my panic test on dry pavement I was able brake hard enough that the front tires were yielding under the pressure and chirping slightly but never locking up and entering a skid. IMO this is as close to ideal and you can get. People who brag about being able to lock up their tires are driving a car that when in a panic situation they can't steer the car and the stopping distance has been significantly lengthened. Not Good!

Something I didn't realize until I bolted everything onto the truck is that there is a scoop of sorts stamped into the dust shield that captures air and tunnels it toward the rotors for cooling purposes. pretty cool.

I revisited the rotor choice and there is the same rotor but with a smaller bolt hole diameter that I
ll be using for the final production.

With brakes being the end all last line of defense in avoiding an accident and possibly saving a life, I can't in good conscience make this about the bottom line.
Discussions with my supplier has made it clear that higher order quantities will drop purchase costs. This would only effect the rotor hat and mounting bracket.

My plan is to offer a kit for those who want the system immediately and those who want just the custom pieces for future use. This would be in a Group buy situation where we all can pull our resources together for a better price.
