So been reading lots of great information on this site and figured I'd better join and start a build thread. I bought a 1982 BJ60 a couple years ago bone stock. Was my daily and it was great. However the body was in really rough shape and I have a new daily so it's time to turn the 60 into a rock crawler. I picked up a 97 ranger cab for $200👍 good deal. Plan is to rebuild the rear half of the frame, and do the spring over I've always wanted. Then get the ranger cab situated. Gonna build a little wheeling deck for it. Have a DIY turbo kit almost done for it as well. And seeing as it's going to be a trail only rig, full hydro steering setup. Gonna have lots of questions. Cant wait to get into it! Photos are from when I first started digging into it until how it sits on the sawhorses now🤘

Cool project. Lots of good forestry roads to run that on where you are.

Are you going back to normal length - stock rear driveshaft, or will it be a shorter wheelbase?

Yea pretty lucky its a great area. I'm actually extending the wheelbase 14" so I'll need a longer shaft.
