I have a fj80 and yesterday while driving to sierra mountains it started having a hiccup it seemed like it wasn’t getting gas so I pulled over and turned the car off, when I turned it back on it was fine for 20 miles and it did it again and eventually it just wouldn’t get any gas and it would keep stuttering, I stopped and replaced the fuel pump as I had a replacement in the car with me, I turned on the car it was fine but then all of a sudden it started doing it again. I am not sure what the reason could be and if any of you guys can help me it would be appreciated.

Replace your fuel filter.

Oh ok. Your post stated you replaced your fuel pump only

Oh yes, I replaced the fuel pump yesterday when it happened, but that you filter was changed about 2000 miles ago to be exact,
I looked it up on AutoZone. They go about $20. So I think I’ll do it just to be Safe

If your charcoal canister is clogged up, the tank will pull negative pressure as altitude increases and temperature drops.
If you're getting positive or negative pressure when opening the fuel filler cap, then deal with the canister before you wind up cracking the tank.

I do get the pressure every time I open up fuel cap i’m so that sounds like my charcoal canister is clogged up

Update, ever since this issue has been happening there is no hissing when I open my fuel cap

Have you checked for cracks/splits in the rubber intake plenum?
Loose oil filler cap?
The top half of the 3FE wants to be air tight. Any unmetered air entering the system will play havoc with the A/F ratio.

Are you getting any error codes?
