Ladder Options

We have a Gobi ladder currently installed and will be purchasing a rear bumper in the next few days. Unsure if the ladder will fit but if it doesn’t the ladder will be for sale mid April.

Thanks @jtv107, if you end up not using it I’d definitely be interested! What rear bumper are you installing?

would anyone with a gobi ladder be able to measure the height of that top piece above the door? I have the ARB flat rack, wanted to see if I had room to install. Thanks in advance!

No tape measure but the top of the ladder is approximately the same height as the fm radio fin and the ladder stops at the back edge of the hatch spoiler. Keep in mind that the ladder rotates up and back with the hatch when it opens.

My Frontrunner rack is pretty far back, and I didn't have to adjust it for the Gobi ladder. If there's still daylight when I get out of work I'll measure and snap a couple pics. Here is a basic view though:

mcgaskins, I was reviewing your fitting info on the Gobi ladder and couldn't help noticing your lights in the cut outs on the ARB bumper. What lights are those? I haven't been able to find the right size and your choice seem to fit the cut outs perfectly.

I can post pictures when I get home but in the meantime everything is mint in box all envelopes with the hardware are unopened. Getting rear bumper with ladder, so this one is not needed. Took Gobi 4 months to make it and get it to me.

He sold it to me. I have yet to mount it. Don't have a rear spoiler on my LC and the mount that holds the ladder molds to a rear spoiler. So I haven't had time to see if I can figure out a way of mounting it or if I should see if a fellow mudder wants it

So quick FYI - bought a gobi ladder and it doesn't appear to work on the LX. The LX has a fairly flat spoiler while the top mount for the gobi has a .33" bend up for what I assume is a variation in the land cruiser spoiler. Also, the trunk handle on the LX is smaller so you would be sticking it directly on the paint at the bottom of the ladder. You would also have to modify the lid handle, as there are various pieces on the LX that are not present on the LC.

Long story short , not plug and play, and frankly not worth it in my opinion. Anyone need a ladder????

Question to anyone that has a gobi rack. Is it sturdier and stronger than modular racks such as front runner or prinsu? Or are they about the same?
