Been having an issue where every time i turn the ignition on the 30amp power window fuse blows.

I had heard that usually theres a short in the channel loom before the door so I disconnected that and at the master switch switch. Pulled the loom out and checked the connections and loom into the dash as well as the wiring at the fusebox. No rub throughs were found. I did have a little charring (nothing through) 8" out from the body ground (WHITE WITH BLACK LINE) for that loom. I cleaned it, put heat shrink over the area and and checked the area for other chars/rub throughs. None. All is good

Found a little bit of possible spark dust on the (BLUE WITH RED LINE) connection point wire near the door. Cleaned it, checked all connections around and found no evidence of that being the issue. I did accidentally arc the power (SOLID BLUE) with that wire before I had disconnected the battery while testing with an ohm meter so I had assumed that was from that.

After all of that I decided to test it again to see what would happen. Loom was disconnected at the door. Turned the key to ACC. No pop. All good. Turned the key to ignition on. Immediate pop. Somebody help I have no idea what to do and I'm about to push this beauty into the ocean. Could it be an ignition ground issue from the Blue with Red Line wire? My Radio, Electric mirrors, and Clock also don't work (fuse is good though?) so is it something shorting with that? I cant seem to find the wiring diagram in english anywhere online and I really dont want to take the dash and loom apart to find this thing or spend hundreds at the shop

Thanks for the help in advance

Hello,

Check your grounds.

Heavy duty 70 Series have a common ground point near the fuse box. Ground wires are brown with a white line (or brown-white) and get either loose or corroded in old age.

Ignition grounds and ageing ignition wires play tricks as well, especially if there is an aftermarket anti-theft alarm.

Hope this helps.

Update:

I’ve disconnected all windows at their channel points, an cleaned all the grounds that I could find:
- driver and passenger channel walls (4 wires per both white with black line and brown with white dots)
- under dash ground near glovebox and blower
- ground next to air box
- ground next to diagnostics on passenger side

I also:
- Pulled steering wheel cover and inspected wires, all good there

Still blowing my 30 amp fuse. Anyone have a wire diagram in English for this thing?

Anyone have page 3-15 and 3-16 of the KZJ78 wiring diagram? The ones I've found online don't have these pages and its the power windows wiring page

My hard copy is off for scanning right now, but once it’s back I am happy share that those pages.

Update Fixed issue:

Ended up just taking it to a local guy who works on Delicas a lot. He ended up finding the short somewhere between the drivers seat and the center console. Apparently when someone had removed a seat they tugged at wires without disconnecting the junction and pulled the wires for the Lumbar support and window power out of their sleeves so they were touching. $600 for peace of mind didnt sound too bad to me! I was about to take the dash off to chase the thing.

Still interested in the electrical diagram scans! But in a pinch you can pull up the Japanese one on your laptop and use google translate "photo" option on your phone. Worked well enough to figure things out fast
