Knuckle Preload Issues.

Yes, I know there are threads on this topic but nothing seems to have helped.

I got a 96 FJ40, and I just took the knuckles apart and resealed them. Everything was smooth, and it was pulling about 6.5 lbs before tearing it apart.

I just put on some hi-steer arms and know I'm pulling 10+lbs sometimes reaching 16 lbs.

I'm at a loss on what else I can do I have tried re-shimming it, making sure the races are in correctly, packing the bearings.

Any words of wisdom?

Don't have a field service manual in front of me and don't remember the range setting. How far out of range are you, plus or minus?
