Hey guys,
Over the last week, my 95 FJ80 has started knocking or thumping (felt through the foot rest) at various speeds between 28-55mph. It is felt through acceleration and de-acceleration at roughly the same speeds. I can replicate it easily going through the speed range. It seems to be getting worse too. I also have the infamous click on a tight turn to the left but not the right. My front axle has had the "groan" while going down the highway for a while now. I think my front axle needs rebuilding as we have 220k on her. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

Grab your torque wrench check suspension, sway bar, body mounts, etc, hardware for correct torque. Do the knuckles have moly grease, should be ~1/2-3/4 full.

Mine gave a nice "bang" when switching between accelerating and decelerating. Felt like hitting a pothole almost! Turns out the outer drive splines were shot and likely the extreme slack in the drivetrain was making the transfer case jump up and down.

I have a "bang" felt thru the entire truck and can be seen by the steering wheel 'bouncing' when it bangs/thumps. It happens when going at speed I quickly let off accelerator or quickly apply it from coasting (like on the highway). Thought it was my drive flanges but they, and the shaft ends, look perfect. Been chasing this down for over a year to no avail.
