Good Day,

Firstly thanks for this awesome resource.

I was wondering if anyone has installed King 2.5 shocks all round while retaining the KDSS ie not deleting it?

2nd question, when does the KDSS operate in OFF Road mode ie which settings?

New to the KDSS and LC but loving it and just learning.

Cheers from Dubai.

KDSS is the sway bar setup. Your shocks and springs dont affect it. KDSS operated 100% of the time and doesnt need any input from the driver or electronic aids. Its just a smarter sway bar setup.

Ohhhh. What king setup is that specifically? I'm looking to upgrade my entire OME setup and am already running the Camburg UCAs. From what I've been reading I've moved away from Icon and think this is the way to go. Thanks!

Nice. I am thinking the 3.0s will be an overkill for my usage but I think the lower duty 2.5 series shock should work well? Thanks for the help. My apologies for the mini hijack.

Plenty of YouTube videos which describe how the KDSS works...

I am pretty sure how KDSS works, but from what I understand is that it has an on-road function ie being more locked out so to speak and allowing less articulation. Off-road obviously being the opposite.

So if I go off-road without selecting Low Range, Center Diff-Lock, Crawl Control or Multi Terrain Select, how would KDSS know if I am looking articulation. Sometimes when we drive in the dessert here it's in High Range with Center Diff Lock only. Or is it a one trick pony?

KDSS doesn’t have any brain controlling it. Doesn’t know if you are in low, high, CDL.. there is no electronic control.

It is just configured hydraulically so that if you try to lean the whole vehicle one way or the other (such as in a turn) the sway bars stay rigid. But if you only try to compress one tire (as in articulation climbing over an obstacle) it allows the sway bars to disconnect so they don’t resist this movement.

Some high end suspensions have different setups for 200s with KDSS vs without.. I suspect this is just for making sure the reservoirs don’t interfere with KDSS components mounted on the frame.

I have stage 6 3.0 icons. They ride beautifully. Now I’m having some serious creaking going on but I think it needs to be re-torqued and and any zerks lubed. Taking in to have it all remedied hopefully. Doesn’t creak when it rains though(pure silence) 🙄. My next setup will be Kings 2.5 though. Just love the Blue coil-overs and believe they are even higher quality and will look great with my blue 200. I’ll wait until the Icons have to be rebuilt before I through them on.

Just collected the car after the install - MAN what a difference in handling, dove into a few big roundabouts at speed hit a few speed bumps. Much more predictable to drive and no nose dive under heavy breaking.

Will post some picks tomorrow.

I just installed Kings 2.5 with SPC UCA's about a month ago. Love them!

Who did you purchase from? On King/Fox/Radflo the tuning makes all the difference, which means a vendor that knows the product and the vehicle and can match the use. On my GX I went Radflo because the vendor only did 4Runners and GXs. I had to re-valve the fronts only (I do re-vavles myself) to get them the last 5% to be perfect. Then just maintain pressure to 66k miles - great product. But I won't buy Radflo again because the owner was such a PITA when I wanted a new valve stack. For my incoming Heritage that will replace the GX (build date this Thursday!) I'm looking for a shock tuner with a lot of 200 series experience with either Fox or King.

I bought the King's from SDHQ in Gilbert, AZ. They wouldn't install the rear springs and SPC's since I sourced them from others so I had a local dealership do the install.

Admittedly, I don't get into the minutia of "fine tuning" so, I can't speak to that. I'll probably play around with the remote reservoir settings at some point but haven't yet.

I don't think SDHQ has a lot of King/200 experience. The couple of builds they have on their website are Icons.

Filthy Motorsports kept coming up in my research in regards to experienced tuning but their so busy you can't get through to them and I didn't want to wait months to get them.

I didn't do any pre or post measurements but the lift is definitely noticeable. The added clearance is awesome on trails.
