I'm lifting my FJ 2 inches (OME) and want to go from 31 to 33-inch tires. I currently have 31x10.5 BFG Mud-Terrains on stock rims. They look great, but I never really loved the ride, considering I am mostly on the road and occasional fire trails.

Been hearing a lot about 33x9.5 Kenda Klever, but I am worried they are more tire than I need, considering they are a hybrid between mud and all-terrain. Anyone who has them have any regrets? How do they ride on the road? Is there a huge difference between Kenda and BFG KO2?

My options are:

Kenda Klever R/T 33x9.5xR15
BFG KO2 A/T 33x10.5xR15

Any other recommendations? Opinions welcome!

I went from the tires you have to the Kenda RT. I’m a little confused by your statement. If you have mud tires, why would an all terrain be more than you need?

I had both BFG all terrain and mud terrain on 8” and stock rims, my new Kenda are on stock rims. The main difference is the Kenda don’t stick out wider than the truck. And in my experience, they hold air much better.

The difference I noticed going from 31” to 33” is slower acceleration from a stop. Lower rpm on the highway makes up for it. I don’t have enough mileage on the Kendas to give a long term evaluation but so far so good.

Kenda R/Ts are quiet! Great tire. Just did 2000 miles in my 40 with them.
