I have a quick question hoping someone can help. I installed a kaymar rear bumper on my 81 and used the lights that came with them. The install was done sometime ago and but i am trying to track down a turn signal issue. All the lights work, hazards work as they should but when i turn on the turn signal it will just stay solid. Anyone else run into this issue.

Usually that means the other turn signal bulb is out - as in rear lights up but the front doesn't. LED bulbs don't pull enough power to cycle the turn signal flasher unit/or can. Does it happen when you signal to left and to the right or just one direction. The control box down by the floor on mine is worn - so my turn signal bracket up by the wheel is loose - that way I can get the extra play up/down needed to make the turn signals work.

All four lights work and it happens in both directions left and right. Hazards work fine on all four corners. When i turn the turn signal on either directions lights up.

It sounds like the rear lights are LED and the fronts still regular bulbs. As previously mentioned the flasher unit needs a certain amount of resistance. In emergency mode, all 4 corners, there is enough resistance and the flashers work. If you use the turn signals, either side, there isn't enough resistance so no flash. This means you need to change out your flasher unit to one that is LED compatible. Then everything should work fine.

Swap your stock flasher with a 522 flasher. The old flasher works off resistance that a LED taillight will not generate.

Replaced the flasher with the one listed above from autozone. Made a jumper harness to plug into the factory harness and made a quick mount so it mounted in same location. Everything works as it should. I will take a pics an post later.
