Just talked to Mat. We are heading up Sat morning. If Ernest lake is too crowded, we're heading to Scuitto Lake. Anyone into going there instead of Ernest?

We are heading to Ernest L and checking it out and see if Aaron and Dan are there. If they are not, then we will probably head for Scuitto too. :steer:

I'm packed...I think! Just have to toss the cooler inside in the morning and ready to go.

Even bringing the kitchen sink :) And of course my "little" flashlight, just in case anyone needs to make it daylight for an emergency bathroom trip in the middle of the night.

For everyone leaving Saturday morning...are we staging up anywhere along the way?

Coffee will be served at Chateau Steiger every morning as well. Bringing the Coleman, and a bottle of Carol-Annes, none of this gritty camp grind crap.

I almost bought the Coleman hotwater set up at Canadian Tire (its on sale), thats a nice neat set up.

I'm meeting Craig at Oxford Starbucks in PoCo at 8:30am sharp, from there we are going to Pitt Meadows to pick up a friend of mine and should be at Flying J on Lickman by 10:30 depending on traffic. From there we are heading straight to Roche Lake area and will radio on Ch. 4 to find the group and figure out what Ernest is like. See you there.
Dan I will call you when we get to Merritt and stop for fuel.

the maiden voyage

Great trip, thanks everyone for the good times. A little on the hot and dry side, but really wasn't too bad, what with the very chilly ac and console fridge :)
We stopped off to visit some friends at Jones lake on the way home, damn its nice there. I had always been under the impression BC Hydro charged to use the sites there, but its totally free, and kept way nicer than a lot of the pay sites. Looks to be some wheeling trails up there as well, I'll try and find out more info.
But I have some work to do on the 81, Busted the exhaust hanger off that huge bling exahust tip I have, my front shocks need new bushings at the top of the towers (totally blown out), and I have some annoying squeal out of the fan belt now as well.
I did take out that sushi tabel or whatever it was, I can fill the whole sleeping compartent up now with an air mattress, looks like I can fit all four of us in there if need be.
And now a few pics. I didn't take that many, my camera sucks and I just forgot to most of the time.

Following some stinky diesel 60.
The big hill I failed to climb (35 psi and 1/2 bald AT's=no go)
And finally the kids helping me wash the mud off (lots of new scratches as well, one even down a back window..ouch!)

Kinda funny how most jdms are all accessorized with new steering wheels, tires, window drip covers, fog lights etc.

That was discussed this weekend, we figure it's the nature of the highly competitive Japanese and wanting to outdo the next guy.

A good trip with some ups and downs, I am sure Bill will do a write up and I will fill in the details of the trip when he was supervising the camp. We all left around 10:30 - 11:00 on Tuesday and Bill and Glenn took off to Merritt right away while Garry, Craig and myself took a more "scenic" route. As far as I know all arrived in good condition (at least Craig and I did), and I will give details tomorrow. Thanks to all who were there and made this another good trip.
Garry, let us know if you made it home.
