Just wanted to give you guys a heads up. Braden (SoCal_Ruby, Nick (Squats-like-a-girl) and I are going to run John Bull Saturday moningish. If anyone would like to come please let me know. Just send me a pm and I will pm you back with my cell number. We will all meet up at IHOP at 9am, eat then hit the trail with a full belly. I am bringing my son Dyaln who is now 7. Hope to see you up there, should be a great time.

Tried to go last night but it was crap by the time I got there, blown out, walled and low tide. There was some size on the sets but it was Walla Walla to Washinton.

are you starting at the gate keeper (east end) and about what time?

Just PM you with my number. Yes we will start out at the east end aka gatekeeper.

Hmm... I was out on John Bull, Gold Mountian, and Holcomb, on the 3rd, with my local club from Lancaster/Palmdale. We saw almost nobody. I would have definitely stopped and talked with local Cruiser bretheren.

I took some damage, but being stock height I expected it. Ran Gold Mountian, and John Bull just fine, but Holcomb took it's toll. Snagged the muffler, bending some hangars, a breaking the cat collector bolt. This forced the muffler into the u-joint, which eventually cleared itself I expected this damage to happen honestly. The Metal Tech sliders and Iron Pig skid got put to good use, and clearly helped me stay off the cable and strap. Only took a strap once all day. Hopefully Santa Claus brings me a lift this year, that few inches of clearance would have made all the difference. No pics, as nobody in my group brought a camera. It was neat watching the looks on the jeep guys faces as I went up similar lines as they did, in a station wagon.

Who is this "local club"?

"Local Club" is High Desert Four Wheelers. Jeep snobs mostly, and TJs at that. Been hanging around with them for about a year, and they still think my 80 is a 4-runner, and I can get parts and accessories for my FJ40 from Quadrtec. Still it the club keeps me in Cal4wheel, so that's the best part. We try to hit up something local at least once a month, Last Chance/Nightmare Gulch, Gorman, Miller, Johnson Valley, and our sponsored trail is Rowher/Boquet. Recently we have been getting out into the Sam Bernadino area more often.

If you are interested I'll send you the club meeting info in PM.

We hit John Bull a little late, I think we finally got on the trail at noon. Met up with Anmer (KimoSabe) and his son as soon as we hit the trail. Traffic was pretty much nil. We ran into two Jeeps that we helped spot down the dug up obstacle a little ways past the Gatekeeper. Other then that we only ran into one other Jeep. The trail was a lot more cutup and difficult then I remembered it. We really had a fun time flexing up the 80s and Jeeps. The only real problem we had on the trail was a louse bounder that got dragger into the middle of the trail when we spotted the two Jeeps down. Nick and his TJ tried his best to get up the trail but even with 37's and Pro Rocks he was not going anywhere. The boulder would rock and swing left to right. So we winched it down the trail a little bit to a place where it would not move. It's still in the middle of the trail but now you can at least drive over it. The only real trail damage was to Braden's Jeep, it ate another set of Teraflex upper rear control arm bushings. He was still able to drive it just fine but it's metal to metal contact, clang clang for the rest of trail. I only have a few photos to post up. Hopefully the others on the trail will post up theirs too.

Had some time to tool around with my kid around the fire-roads looking for mud, after all the kid loves mud. Found some nice mud holes before meeting up with Newps, which was great timing at the trail head before JBull. It was great meeting you guys, we had a blast. Didn't see any action shoots of Newps? So I posted a video titled 1 Minute & 42 Seconds of Tare ... enjoy

I thought that's who you talking about, but I didn't see you named on their website. Had a buddy with a built Grand Cherokee that used to run with them, but I don't see him on there, either.

i'm not really into the "Club" thing. I like doing runs with small groups, rather than spend half the day waiting for the group to get through an obstacle.

I did just notice that I know the guy with the Commanche pick-up. Didn't know he was in the Club.

Great pictures!! Love the flex on the jeep. Need to get the 80 to flex like that.
