I will keep in touch. The economy has been ok for us. Not great but ok. Things are picking up since we both got good excellent job offers. Employment while I was deployed was a good paying steady job and also tax free so we weathered the storm pretty good and are setup to take advantage of the really low home prices and interest rate.

CONGRADULATIONS to you and your wife! You are living the good life. Glad to know you.

Jodo

Sweet! a local 80 brother. Thanks for the TIG offer. Thats very nice of you. I'm near Granitebay and Roseville. I'll PM you.

Jodo

You bet!....it would be nice to meet some super cool LX-450..... landcruiser people.

Well I am super cool and I have an LX:cool: LOL (hijack out)

And thats because you own a LX-450.....if it was an 80 then you would be "just cool"...not "SUPER COOL"..........lololol

any updates? more shots of the '80 flexing?

I need Jodo's skillz and checkbook. Great work, what do you charge?

I decided to use a Rubicon Express JK long arm for the front. R.E. has put alot of R&D into this design and has rave reviews. Believe it or not a well outfitted JK weighs close to an equivilent 80.

Jodo

Just found this thread. I have wondered about how well JK long arm suspensions on an FZJ 80 would work compared to the stock radius arm. Thank you for posting this thread and congradulations on the build!

Would there be any benefit to using a 4 arm set up versus the RE JK radius arms? No experience with JKs how do the Long Arm 4 link JK suspensions compare to the RE JK radius arms in road manners and flex?

I was thinking of using the factory radius arm mounts on the frame for the lower arm and building uppers (a 4 link suspension similiar to JKs).:hmm:

My first priority though is figure out a better steering set up for lifted trucks.

Happy New Year!

any updates?

That is art!!!! If i had your pocket book i would buy another 80 and fix it up like that. I don't do off-roading but i love trucks that are high like that. Especially for me being tall it would feel right for me to be higher. I know the view has got to be great up there.

WOW!!

Been a year how's it working?

Jodo,
I still say your project is the best 80 project I have seen. How's it working out after a year of usage?
Geologic
Sold my LX450
Kinda want one like yours

Just read through it and wowzers !
And it's even better that your a local ! ( I'm in roseville also)

Cheers

Jodo,
First I was jealous with the truck and your skills. Then you end up married, and to an obviously cool and understanding woman. Now you throw out moto-touring on a GS, and with the same cool wife besides. You are officially my hero.

What's next? Save the planet? Cure cancer? I wouldn't put anything past you at this point. Nice work all the way around.

DITTO.................

Hello All,

It's been a while but all is going good. Everthing is working pretty good. This shot was taken earlier this year exploring Tahoe National Forest. I was able to treak most the way from Truckee to Quincy all off road. Very cool!
