I was really questioning it since the LC already has some sound deadening. In addition, some areas are covered by the seats... Only put one layer some added more. Not like it's going to make a huge difference. Maybe I'll skip the roof and just add the heat insulation instead. Did it mitigate the noise pollution for you?

I can't really tell if it improved anything. The V8 makes a ton of sound...lol...

I also used a foam layer on top of the butyl layer. I think more foam and less butyl if I did it over again.

Did you ever figure out your heating issue? I do know a while back when I redid my radio the one round looking plug on the back of the heater controls came loose and I was getting heat but it was either one temp or the other. Popped that back in and everything worked. If you already fixed it just ignore this but just reading through and thought I would add.

That is good to know. Thanks for asking. After I installed the thermal insulation and heat reflective shield, I don't have the heating problem going into my cabin no more. I had a big hole in where the shifter is. Ls engine produces way more heat than the land cruiser inline 6 I think.

Installed the delta bumper. Very happy. Easy installation. Except aligning the bumper using the shims and you have to use an angled wrench to tighten the bolts/nuts on the winch brackets (tight clearance, third picture). Probably more difficult if you were to install a winch. I will incorporate the winch if I were to do extreme off-road later. For now it’s a daily vehicle. This bumper is heavy. Neverfinis made a great suggestion to use the engine hoist. Safer for sure. Will be painful if this bumper fall on you while tightening the lower bolts. Had a helper to lift into the frame and used some supports under the bumper in case the bumper drop. Love the craftsmanship and precision on the delta’s.

Have to give Neverfinis credit for sharing the first photo. I imitated his design to make the Dakota gss 3000 to work. Now I have PRNRD2L lights. The 4l60e has PRND321. I programmed the Dakota box to skip 3. L=1, 2 = 2. Is nice the Dakota has a relay for the neutral safety switch; come back to it when I have time since I deleted the nss on the Tranny to clear the lokar arm and rod. Used jb welds instead of a screw. Program video.

All windows were sluggish going up and down so I replaced them with some inexpensive VDO Continental ones (WL42067 & WL42066) from Rockauto. Front and rear window motors are the same. Cleaned all the rails and greased the gears. Works great now. Fitments for the rear ones were problematic. Had to trim/sand the area circled in red to make the motor fit. Note: the wires aren't the same color, wiring them up incorrectly will reverse up and down. Sprayed wd40 silicone grease in door lock mechanism and other moving parts to loosen up the frictions. My rear locks didn't work before using the remote because they were dry. Fairly easy job. For the rear ones, much easier to remove the bracket and motor as one unit and swap the motors out when they aren't inside the door.

Been a while since my last post. Wanted to share this so hopefully someone won’t make the same mistake as I did (didn't use the alignment tool, either this may cause the leak or a bad GM rear main seal). After the engine rebuild, rear main seal started to leak. Couple months ago I had to remove the trans, transfer case to get to the rear main seal, wasn't a hard job, just took two days. I used the alignment tool this time, was easy to use, more precision. Also, I added thread sealant lockers on the flywheel bolts. 200 miles so far no leaks.. Upgraded to the Melling oil plug as well.

Something came up with my job and with a newborn. I have to stay here for a while. My parents are moving there this summer. When I visit them will bring you some beers Matt. Great to see your shop and cool projects.
