Let me be the first to say...I nominate Marc for vp:flipoff2: payback's a beeyoch:flipoff2:

So far I've heard no one express interest in the FN chair job...we've got tons of people wanting to help (which is great but...). I'd like to see someone step up that: has time to do it, a club "veteran" or at least been to several events (not just ours). If no body wants it, i will likely do it by default but just a warning...come next...oh, march 25 I'll be taking a little time off.

Rob is checking on a venue also.

Other things to talk about:

Callenders - I'd like to do these again (before the meeting;))...Gary and Elizebeth have done them in the past...

Wheeling events: I'll have to check the cali

Non-wheeling events: wrench weekends, camping/canoe trips, mini meetings (kris we need to see your new pad)

newsletter content: I started a thread on this a few weeks ago.

who is the vp now?...and what exactly are the duties?...i might consider that roll..unless of coarse the current vp decides to stay on...or some other tac member feels the need to hold that office..perhaps someone should pm ed and see what he found out as far as a location for the meeting...just a thought..

To be honest I didn’t really think I could get out of it that easy…I’m not about to just abandon post but if anyone is interested and want’s to take the lead I’d step aside for the good of the club. This has been a hobby for me which more or less means I get to spend very little time on it. comments are welcome…

mike's the current vp and judging by his post he wants out.:crybaby:

I have no idea what the next year will bring for me and while duties of the VP are light, I don't know that we'll be in KS for the next two years.

That said, I have no problem staying on but also would really like to see more folks PAR-TIC-I-PATE, especially someone who will be here in two years.

Let me jump up on my soapbox for a minute...... I would like to see TAC plan an event or plan to attend an event as a club run at Kansas Rocks, and here's why.

Like Flat Nasty, Ks Rocks, is private property and needs the support of area wheelers and clubs. More and more public land is being lost to the greenies or being bought by developers every year and while I applaud the work of SWFWD, Tread Lightly, BRC & others to keep that land open we still seem to be loosing bits and pieces every year. This year Rocktoberfest at Cass, AR was not able to use any of the PUBLIC trails for their event and had to run the trails on Mrs. Byrd's private land. At GCC's picnic, little blue was supposed to be closed (lucky for those of us that ran it the signs had been stolen).

When the public is no longer available what are our options? Yep, private land..... private land he needs are support NOW so it'll be here when it's all that's left!

:climbing off the soapbox and putting on flame suit:

Just my 2 cents.... keep the change.

well spoken mike...maybe use kansas rocks as a location for a winter time run....say in january....dsr at tuttle, winter run at kansas rocks and spring freeze at disney...what do you all think?...oh and of coarse flat nasty

i am on the BOD at Kan Rock (for what it's worth)
i would like to see a TAC event or just a ride at the park
TOYOTA motor comp. helped out last year at the frost bite run
and is doing it again this year (feb 23rd little plug )
i would like to be a member of the TAC (but)
i have wheeled with some off you, and i have been around some others
and it just looks to me that if i dont have a 40,60 or 80 i dont fit in. (or is it the Kan Rock thing)
but i still run a toyota,with toy axels,toy motor,toy tranny,toy t cases (all 3)
theres only about 5 or 6 of you that would talk to a new comer
i have been in the 4X4 world from 1979 (yep i'm getting old)
ok i guess this just looks like i am cryin :crybaby:
but i was asked (PMed) on here to see if i would join up with you all
and this just hit me
ok if this is out of line or out of place you can Delete this post
this just hit me and i am not much on keepin my mouth shut, sorry

I think alot of new folks to the group feel that way... I did at first. I just started wheelin' with 'em..... Besides, you are kinda scary lookin' :flipoff2:

No hard feelings here. Come wheel with us some, we'll wheel with you some and it's all good. I'll make plans for the frost bite run

Duane-

You've seen the POS that I wheel and these guys and gals LOVE ME! :princess::grinpimp:

It has been my experience that with any group it's hard to get connected right away. Heck it wasn't until this last event at F&N that I really started to settle in and get to know everyone.

So stop feeling sorry for yourself and hang out with us for awhile :flipoff2:

I'll say it before anyone else does, but I have heard that trails at KS Rocks aren't wagon friendly (i.e. 60's and 80's). Heck I had a hard time avoiding the trees with my 3rd Gen 4Runner. With that said, I'd like to see an event there as well...for all the reasons that Mike stated above.

Peace :)

oh so thats it ! now i feel better :o
sorry for the vent

No worries ..... I Just wanna wheel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Screw the politics! I wasn't part of the drama then and ain't now.

The place is still sort of a shambles but Jan it should be ready for service. I can show y'all the nice white garage floor :D

I edited out Mike's justification but suffice to say I agree.

I would certainly be willing to help make some of the trails more wagon friendly. Have Stihl will travel.

And I was the same way at first. At the time I joined, it was mostly all 40s. While there were a lot of 80s being wheeled in Colorado where I moved from, outside of Erik (who soon sold his) they were as scarce as hen's teeth in this area. And 3 years ago, when I bought the mini, there weren't many of those at TAC events, either. So, I've kinda been the odd man out, having never owned or wheeled a 40, but they still put up with me. :grinpimp: So come on out an join us. We'll be sure to save you a spot around the campfire

Don't feel bad, we have had the same experience. We met a few of the TAC members through Chef when he owned his M715 and they came to the M715 events. We were invited to come to the DSR, and had a good time the first few years because of the people we had met at the M715 event welcomed us. The last few times we went there were only a couple of people we knew from the other events, and most of the others treated us like outsiders, not all. Bob G. was one of the friendliest we met there. Looks like this year the only ones that we would have known was Bob G. and Chris R. Now granted we were driving a Full Size Jeep, but I do own a FJ40 and it is currently under construction.

My point is if you want to have this club and events to grow it needs to be more new member friendly.

Just my 2 cents worth. Being from NE it is really hard to get to some of the events that are hosted further south. Have enjoyed the DSR in the past, but stopped attending because of the "stuffy" attitudes.

Pam
