I've finally found a decent solution for BT audio in my 06 with NAV

Well I've installed mine this afternoon!

Couldn't get it to work at all with the Y cable, perhaps a faulty one so I just accepted I won't have the CD changer and plugged the bluetooth in directly and it works well on bluetooth music. The audio quality when calling was terrible though, not entirely sure why or if it was a whatsapp thing vs normal calling so need to check that, but it still is better than nothing.

Pursuant to the volume issue I made a discovery. Sometimes, rarely, my portable add on android auto headunit glitches and does not pair with my phone my phone. When it does this I too have reduced volume. Restarting things gets the phone to connect to the portable headunit and volume is full. I'm not exactly sure how the android auto connection works, it seems to create a wireless network with the phone and the phone is still connected to the bluetooth reciever either way. I'm not sure how/why this is but maybe that helps someone.

I also want to add that as an added bonus, and maybe others have this too, but my steering wheel controls work to switch tracks when running youtube music, really really cool and I did nothing extra to make this happen.

Good information about your volume findings.
I forgot to mention at the start of this thread that my steering wheel controls work for changing tracks. I'm using Poweramp for Android.

I had to abandon my cheap eBay solution due to increasing frequency of total system malfunction. I though malfunction was due to Pin 60 failure/crack but I resoldered this connection and didn't see improvement. I didn't think my ebay bluetooth device could be causing this malfunction because for the longest time I had almost no trouble but I disconnected it for a week and the system was trouble free. I did some research and there are cheaper options than the Yatour but most say they don't work with navigation. I wonder what is special about the Yatour that it does not upset the Infotainment system? In any event I purchased the Yatour on Amazon and installed it yesterday. Worked great this morning on my way to work. Thanks!!!

Mine will randomly lose connection and all control of the radio/nav/climate go as well. Does not happen often but is quite irritating when it does. I may end up switching too

For those of you using the YATOUR - have you figured out a way to disable the annoying "connected" voice announcement?

I have the USA Spec BT45TOY (from Amazon) in both my '03 LX470 and '05LS430. So far had them for about 2 yrs, very happy! Sound quality is quite good. The LX required an adapter than I got from Crutchfield.
Do you happen to have link to the adapter you got for the 03 LX? I'm thinking of getting this for mine but I'm told the plug won't work because there 03s have different plugs. If there's an adaptor that would solve everything!

Yatour works with the ML 98-02, but you need a 5+7 connector along with 5+7 Y-adapter. Only place I found it was Ebay. Installed mine, it's awesome. The radio transmitting Bluetooth thing sucked.

That's not really what you're asking, but the point is the Yatour 6+6 should work great too.
