Johnson Valley CA last weekend....
Dallas Auto Show this weekend....
Virginia next weekend...
Baytown TX the weekend after that....

definitely not bored...

I currently have the 40 rolling chassis at the body mans place....
Awaiting tub mounting:clap::clap::clap::clap:

Then I can update my dinosaur build thread.

Winter has been long and hard on me and the 80. Believe it is time to do the head gasket as I added 1/2 gallon of red juice the other day. 140K on it, so it needs a few other items too.
Figuring on the following:
Valve job
All cooling system hoses, incl. PHH
Plugs and wires
Radiator flush

Anything else I should be considering?

Hank, you still up for this job? I ain't got no time. Building several Motorcycle engines and finishing up the new sidecar rig I built this winter. Rode it to Daytona for bike week, ~4200 miles with the side trip to Arkansas coming home. Got a few items on the punchlist after that trial run. Rescuing a flood victim bike too. Lots of cleanup there.
On the gutter front, I put in Gutter Stuff last fall. It's like an expanded foam or sponge looking stuff that fills the gutter up and prevents crrap building up in there. Had good recommendations from a few pals and seems to make sense. You can get it in sections at True Value.

Yeah, still game just give me some notice. We are finishing up a few projects around here. The Duramax equipped Suburban will make it's maiden transport voyage later this month. We took two months off working on it with a couple of record sales months really taxing the service department. Now it's go time though.

Quiet in here again. What's up all? Any body ready for some winter wheeling? Niner, how much snow in the woods out by you? Anybody kill any trophy bucks? Anybody convert to wheeling Isuzu's? Mother Nature is making ice, ice racing is only a couple months away.

There must be some excitement here.

I'm in chi town this week so the reports I've had is 8" on the ground in my woods just a couple in the chicago area I can confirm.

I missed the trophy buck the WI DNR can't count as far as I'm concerned. The only places I saw any Deer was in or near towns.

Fintelman is looking for a isuzu rodeo shell to build a buggy with, don't ask it's fintelman.

Thinking about wheel spacers to get the 15" studs on the FJC, but might bring the Heep out on the ice for a beating.

Fintelman needs to finish the buggy he has first.....

reminds me, need to come up with studded tires for the races this winter....wonder if 15's fit on my FJ40 or not...hhmm

Heading to Crandon this weekend to work with the Off Road Raceway's 40th Anniversary "Ride with Champions" team. Mainly route confirmation and GPS. Lots of road, 1.5 miles of non road that we must walk due to lack of permission at the moment. I'm taking the 4Runner and lots of warm clothes.

Anybody else doing anything exciting this weekend?

thot that was off? - dammit!

I've got Sushi and martini plans for Sat nite, gotta be home by 5ish to get hosed down and ready....

Gamblers tickets for Fri nite, probably end up at Cleo's afterwards...

It's not off, it just not wheeling any more. It's driving and walking.

Sushi and martini. I'd rather walk 10 miles in bunghole deep snow. Have fun with that.

As for the Gamblers, are they any good? Never been.

it's entertaining....a good hockey game includes lots of fighting, so we'll see...lol

more sushi for me....good deal :)

still looking for a picture of an oem overflow bottle with stock bracket mounting location along with pic of charcoal cannister for a 4/75:bang:
Did not take good pics in the early yrs.(disposable camera, updated by alstaz with a digital, dropped in the crick by my kid, then bought another....)

Well Saturday went well in Crandon. Not much snow made for easy hiking. Ice underneath made for some lousy suprises. 40th anniversary trail ride for The Fall Brush Run 101 will be an epic event. Not much serious wheeling but just wrapping your head around what these guys and gals used to do while bopping around the woods should be a great time.

Are they allowing trail rides on the original 25 mile track?

Yes and no. Cliff has yet to make up his mind for good. Also the originality is a bit tough because it used to traverse swamps and had water crossings and such. This as you well know is taboo today. We will do our best to keep it original with respect to treading lightly and ensuring customers a good time. There are spots where 30 years of brush (read trees 4-5" in diameter) are going to keep us out due to current forest management techniques.

Still keep us informed My Father and I have missed very few Brush runs since 1974. would be great to run even parts of the original route.

I certainly will keep all here informed. How is your dad? I heard he had a foot thing? He was laid up for a bit?

Still want those mini truck axles? They are out and ready at N8's. If not, no big deal. I took to long getting it apart.

sure would, prolly should get them out of N8's way PM me the price :)
