Just go with a dedicated tow vehicle and dont molest the 4 runner. here is a good example.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilKq7WsuzMU&feature=related

That! Was awesome! He was fully gettin' it! :D

Ok, so the answer to my question, so far, is no. I'm talking about a top that bolts right onto a 4Runner just like stock, but has provisions for more interior space either taller, or wider... Still uses the rear window, so it seals up just like factory. I'm sure the reason it either hasn't been done or is so rare that no one can come up with an example is $$$$. Lets face it, if you're driving a 20+ year old 4Runner you're probably broke like me... :D

*Like I said, where's Oleg w/ a chime in? I bet you can slice a factory top up just right and fab one. It's just a matter of perseverance and money.

Chop the one from Green Ba$tard. (*Yes I deliberately changed the "s" to a "$".)

First of all, that was the funniest thing I've seen all week.

Second...

Why isn't there a bolt on camper conversion for 1st gen 4Runners? Think of the possibilities... Pop up, pop out, cab over... Sleeps 6 comfortably... :D

Discuss:

I've been thinking about this for a while. I've seen this exact thing available for convertable 70 series cruisers, bed over the cab, small sink/stove, water tank etc. Looked awesome, and should work just as well for a 4runner. Like a truck+camper, but with walk-through access from cab to camper, and much higher mobility than most big heavy campers on a full sized truck.

I'll see if I can find the website again.
