i am going to start towing my gx behind my 40' diesel pusher motorhome. to make this happen i have two options on tow equipment.

blue ox

or the roadmaster

my ultimate goal is to also install a steel bumper on the front of the gx (arb/ironman/metaltech)

from what I can tell, the mounting points from both options look to interfere with most of the bumper mounting points. Anyone with any first hand info on bumper mounting see either one of these as a viable option to add a bumper without hacking s*** up.

The least intrusive option would be cutting some of the bumper mounting flange off to make way for the roadmaster gusset. This picture came from the SSO mounting instructions but all of the bumpers seem to be pretty comparable.

if anyone wants to look at the base plate mounting instructions

roadmaster - https://www.roadmasterinc.com/pdfinst/1168-1.pdf

or should i just give up on installing a bumper too

The blue ox looks like your best bet. Will require some welding and fab work regardless.

@nadroj - did you ever end up figuring this out? I’m about to move from OEM bumper to an aftermarket solution. I’ve currently got the Roadmaster base plate and can’t figure out how it would work with a new bumper.
Currently intending to get some real world feedback on this product mounted to a steel bumper:

I’ve seen Jeepers bolt and weld them to their bumper, but I’d have to be extra sure about the mounting strength as the GX will come in ~6,500#, which is quite a load to tow.

No, I just gave up on my goal of ever getting a metal front bumper and installed the blue ox baseplates.

With the new attachment points, just seems like more money to throw at an already expensive bumper. I also think the integrity of the plate material would probably be the weak link. There was a guy on here or irv2.com that towed his gx with a metaltech bumper with good results before selling it
