Tinkering around with the Electric power steering in the late 77 project. Instructions says to mount the ECU adjacent to the clutch. However this beauty resides there. I have new desmogged carb and going desmog all the way which made me curious if this even matters anymore?

Then raises question about the wiring harness and what to do with the plug if I can toss it.

I can figure work around but thought I’d check with the brain trust called mud!

The only remaining function you really need from the circuit board inside that is to control the fuel cut (idle) solenoid on the carb, and you can do without that by grounding the wire that comes from the solenoid to that box. A lot of folks do that anyway (myself included) when the cold-soldered circuit board fails.

I'm 100% desmogged, that contraption is in a box of extra parts somewhere.

More than likely not necessary.

Thank you gentlemen!
