Hey, since it's the week of, I thought I'd start a new thread to see if there is still interest in doing an ALCA Tech Day this Saturday, August 18th, at Sean's place in Camp Hill.

Here's the thread where the idea came up: Ever Play with Your Pinion?

Rob and Chris B. both expressed interest due to Pinion issues--still in?

I've replaced the oil seal in my front pinion and the u-joints in the front shaft at this point but there's other things I'd like to do:

Replace U-Joints in the rear driveshaft
Install front sway bar drop blocks
Adjust the LSPV for the rear brakes

I'm cool with whatever the group thinks the focus of the day should be--maybe just drivelines, including pinions, angles and driveshafts, as an example? And we can try to make the most of it.

What does everyone think?

Brett

If anyones coming let me know. If nothing else, I cleaned the garage. Turns out I have a two car garage:eek:

I'll post directions if you are.

I am getting ready to order rear pinion seals, bearings, and ujoints, also. Sounds like we will all be tearing into our rear ends

I would also like an idea of a number of attendees, as I will bring eats and beer.

Brett, I have a Motive pressure brake bleeder that works great, and I will bring that along.

So post up if you are attending!:beer::beer::beer:

as of now I'm still planning on coming.

Don't think I'll be working on the 80 though. I need to look at the rear third on my 40 so I figure I'll bring that! :D

See everyone there!

Start time?

What do we want to do for a start time? The earlier, the better, for me. 9:00?

I'll have to bail out about mid-afternoon to head to another commitment.

I can provide a bit of brew as well from the Troegs boys.

Rob--thanks for the offer of the brake bleeder--I hope I don't need it since I just plan to move the valve on the bracket.

So far, it looks like Rob, JT, Chris B. and Chris B., and me.

Anyone else? Mike? Mike? Craig? Bueller? Bueller?

Brett

Wow. You only live a few blocks from my inlaws. They're on W. Green Street in Shiremanstown.

Is 9:00 okay for you for us to invade your domicile?

BTW--thanks much for volunteering your space and time!

Brett

Not this time

I would love to come and join everyone, but still managing the pool and working this weekend.

I need time to work on my trucks!! After the summer......

Have a great time!
Craig

Anytime is good. I'm usually up by 5-6 am. Depends on the amount of beer the night before.:)

Sean and Brett, it sounds like a bit earlier would be ok with you guys. I was thinking that if we say between 8am-9am, that would give the guys that come from further away (Brett) time to get to Sean's w/o having to leave too early. I get a little nervous, too, in doing some of this work later in the day, as dealerships/parts places tend to close after lunch :) CruiserDan is on vacation this week, and the fellow from American Toyota that helped me really wasn't familiar with the LC, so I am hoping the parts are correct!

I am only 1/2 hr away, so I will more than likely leave my house around 7:30 or so. Like I said, I will also have beer and I will bring food for all, as to not clean Sean and his wife out :)

And yes, thanks Sean for offering your space!

Good point on parts stores, Rob.

I'm good, time-wise, until about 4:00, then gotta bug out. Normally, I could get there earlier (i'm usually up by 5 or 6, too) but we're having our niece and nephew over Friday night.

Chris and Chris are farther away than me, btw, so i was also thinking of them.

I ran into Mike yesterday and said something to him--he may try to come over for a bit as well if he can make time.

Looking like it should be a good time!

Dangit! now I gotta show up!

Thanks, Jeff.

I am actually gonna have to bail out, forgot that we have a family reunion starting at 1:00 in Chambersburg that day and somehow one of the harness wires in my dads FJ40 decided to catch fire, so we'll be fixing that saturday morning as well :(
