Where is everyone putting their iPhones? or smartphones? Whichever? I have mine down low in front of the shifter getting charged but i'd rather keep it up in sight. Is there a good suction cup mount that suits the LC200 well? Or is there something else? I've seen some that snap to the vent. I don't love that idea. Hate to block hot or cold air.
I use a RAM mount in the windshield of my 4Runner (and rental cars when I travel) -- love it. Haven't tried it in the LC. I've just put the iPhone by the USB Jack in front of the shifter and have gotten used to it being there.
If you open the ashtray, it makes a nice little perch for your device. It's kept me from s***ting my dash up with aftermarket stuff. Fwiw, I'm working to use a spare ashtray as a test piece to try and fill with epoxy which will hold the lower section of my phone and have the lightning connector embedded in it.
I'll post some pics if I ever get around to making something that possibly works.

I use little sticker circular rubber tabs, one in front of iPhone and one to side to keep it from sliding forward or sideways.. perfect spot right below the clock on 200 series. Just sits on it's side, leans back against ridge where clock is and it's great for using Waze or Google maps
It's a carbon look vinyl wrap on all the wood trim. Toyota dealer had it done because this was originally his private car and he didn't like the wood trim either. I like both but will stick with the carbon look for now.
ProClipUSA makes a great mount. I get the car specific attachment and then an adjustable phone holder. That allows me to use a case/no case or to upgrade phones without getting a new mount.
The advantage of a proper mount is that it is less likely to go flying off in an accident and that is very important. Those magnetic and suction mounts may hold the phone during normal driving but probably won't hold up in an accident.
Here is my setup. I modified a Ram mount using VHB tape to attach a wireless charger. When I put the phone in the mount it charges automatically. I don't use the grab handle so it makes a solid mount point for me. This location doesn't block your mirror or forward vision because it is within the dimensions of the A pillar. Also there is ample clearance so you don't hit your arm or head when getting in/out. This is an 18 LC fyi.

I did this years ago in my Rubicon using a Ram X Mount and wireless charging pad in a top dash position. For my LC, I purchased the ProClip vent mount with magnetic wireless charger as I want my phone (Google Maps for Nav) front and center.
I have never really understood a vent mount. The vent louvers are flimsy plastic and it doesn't seem like it would be very sturdy. Also why would you want to block/restrict air flow from your vent? Just doesn't seem optimal when there are other options.

My bad. I called it a "vent mount" but ProClip calls it a center dash mount. It attaches the the dash, but just below the vent. Sorry for the confusion. I agree with you. . .trying to mount a mobile device on your A/C louvers is less than optimal.

The RAM-B-238U ball base consists of a 1" B size rubber ball connected to a 2.43" x 1.31" diamond plate. The diamond plate features two holes that measure 1.912" from center to center, matching the industry-standard AMPS hole pattern. This diamond ball base is compatible with a wide variety of...
Simply put, this is the best off-road phone mount you can buy. We designed it specifically for off-road motorcycle riders and racers who want to use their phones as a GPS. You can ride the track or the gnarliest washboard and your phone won't budge, but when you stop for lunch it's easy to pop...

I was originally going to use the magnetic mount available from ProClip, but it places the phone at a lower position than I prefer.
I used the Hondo Perfect Squeeze in my Tacoma and loved it. I see they now make a wireless charging version, so I may need to update. Hondo also sells a limited number of Ram Mount products.
