Hey everyone, long time lurker here. Pleased to announce I've entered the 200 club! I'm a technician for a British super car dealership that got a 2011 LC in on trade. I traded my '13 Tacoma in on the LC and haven't looked back! I'm currently working on replacing some common failures and preventative maintenance parts. Such as the radiator, water pump, T-stat, drive belt, tensioner, idler pulley, spark plugs, filters, and diff/t-case fluids. The truck over all is remarkably clean underneath, luckily it came from Texas so no rust! This morning I rotated the tires and gave the truck a nice alignment. It has the "cruiser lean" which I briefly tried to correct following the threads on this great site. The kdss valves broke loose with no issues, but I couldn't correct the lean in the amount of time I had this morning. Gonna give it another go next weekend. I want to also share an issue I came across when I first drove the truck before buying. The CEL came on during a long test drive, I found it was throwing a P0012 fault ( bank 1 intake cam too retarded). Since the variable cam system is oil controlled I focused on the oil system. Luckily I found right away that the oil filter cap was missing the center support tube, the oil filter was collapsing and dropping the oil pressure. After replacing the cap with tube installed the truck is running flawlessly. I hope that helps someone in the future! I'm beyond excited to finally own a land cruiser, I feel like a teenager again. Can't say enough how awesome this site is!
Sorry for the long post and please correct me if I broke any posting rules! Thanks Justicebeaver.
