Wanted some running boards to reduce rock abuse on the rocker panels and sides. Decided to try Rough Country HD2. I think for the price they appear to be a good product, if the powder coating on the mounts hold up pretty good. Only bummer was that 2/3 of the mounting hardware was missing. So went to the local hardware store and bought replacements.

Couple of weeks ago I replaced the BFG KO3 for Nokian Outpost nAT. Hoping these will be a better all year (winter) AT tire. A guy that tests tires on YouTube tested these in the winter with the other Nokian truck tires and according to his testing these AT tires did just about as good on snow and Ice as the all weather tire.

Spent a couple hrs chasing a rattle every time I closed a door. Removed the pass side tail light, the little storage cubby, and then bumped up against the tailgate cable and found the rattle 🙄 tried finding a thin rubber washer but wasn’t able to, so electric tape to the rescue 🤣

Installed a AWE exhaust. I think it’s the best sounding for what’s available, Stillen second. Would Sound better if it was a manual transmission. Definitely hear it now. If you don’t want to hear the exhaust then leave it stock🤣
Hoping it will help with the mpg. I know, the cost will take a long time to recoup no matter how much/if any it improves the mpg

Driving around today got 3 check engine light codes. Stopped by the dealer and had the assistant shop supervisor download the data and clear the codes. Tomorrow I will drop it off at the dealership for the assistant shop supervisor and shop supervisor to play with while I’m at work.
Hopefully they will finally be able to figure out what is going on.

Wow. Intelligent clearance sonar system sounds quite high tech!

as to another issue that had me drop off the Taco at the dealership was a vibration at what I thought was at around 1300-1500rpm, didn't seem to be speed related. the shop foreman had the Taco for about 9 days while I was away at work. when I came back he told me that he took a lot of copies of the electric info of the Taco and sent them to the mother ship multiple times. the mother ship had no ideas as to what was causing the vibration. during all of this he also had installed some fancy vibration detection equipment on it. this always came back as a tire issue at around 35mph and 53mph. so he had the tire guy at the dealership re balance the tires with the road force balancer. he says all tires where out of balance, which I kind of find hard to believe because I use a specific tire place for all my tire needs. anyway, after re balancing and placing the worst ones on the rear, I can't really notice the vibrations anymore. interestingly, he said he took a number of non-hybrid Taco's that where on the lot for test drives and said that all had the same vibrations, some even worse than what mine had. don't know if the shocks aren't tuned right to fight this? wonder if the Trailhunter or TRD PRO have the same issue with their fancy shocks? I had this vibration leaving the dealership according to my wife, and when I installed the BFG KO3, and with the current Nokian. so far all is well on that front, will be interesting what happens when I do a tire rotation.
