Said it before in this thread and I'll say just the one more time - the best (and only real fix) for my intermittent start was wiring in a HotShot Starter relay P/N# 30202. Like $50 Canadian peso's off the jungle website.

Well, well see what happens. I wouldn't have gone the repair route had i known it wasn't the original starter, but it cranks well.
I'm pulling for you, trust me! I also did the starter button mod, and it did work for several years.
