Are the sombrero and "L" emblem tabs the same as the "full time 4wd" tabs? I would be interested in replacing the 4wd badge with one of your TEQ emblems.

I just finished the CAD drawings of my rear emblems. I have two different kinds. One style will replace the small factory "L" or sombrero in the center of the rear hatch. That style right now has two options which is the "TEQ" and the "80". I also have a larger flat emblem style (same size as the front ones) that can be glued anywhere on the rear of the car that has a flat surface. That style also has the "80" and "TEQ". I will be printing the prototypes of those designs this week and get pics posted. I also need to print the new 80/FJ40 Toyota combo design I showed earlier in this thread. Hopefully by Wednesday I will have all my designs printed and pics posted.

Could someone please upload a pic of the positioning of these rear sombreros as ours are on the lower left tailgate.
Trying to get an idea of size difference if any

Flat back, meaning it would be smooth. No protrusions, tabs, etc. so it could be taped to a fender or rear gate

When the time comes we'll chat about it ;)

I would be interested in the v8 emblem down the road but right now I'm getting flooded with ideas for the front and rear LX/Yota emblems. Once I get those designs all wrapped up printed and shipped out then I will ship my focus over to other ideas. In regards to flat black. I can by more opaque black and more shinny black which can give it a more a less "flat" finish. I you want totally flat then their isn't any reason why you couldn't toss on a coat of flat black spray paint onto the emblem.

For the rear emblem: any chance you'd consider this: a much smaller version of your front grille FJ40-style "T O Y O T A" emblem (black background and silver/white lettering) that would fit right into the "L" or "toyota" emblem spot. Might look even better if you surround it with the L's circle.

Once I get my current designs printed out and test fitted I might look into that option as well.

I finally got a couple TEQ prints done. The lettering on the black and gray is a little rough. I was still having issues with the machine at that point. The red and gray (which I think looks pretty sweet) almost looks orange but it isn't. It's just my crappy camera and bad lighting. The red is a real bright warm red. It really pops with the grey color. Both of these were just prototypes to test on the yota grille Beno is sending me so I didn't print them at the highest setting. If they are a perfect fit then I will print one more in the final higher finish. I just didn't want to spend 6 hours printing it if didn't fit the first time. The 2 hour print seemed to make more sense for what I needed.

Those look really good.

I got the TEQ emblem installed on the grille that Beno sent me. It looks really good. It was a perfect fit. I have now transfered those dimensions over to all my other emblems so I can now print any emblem for a LX or Toyota. I also got 2 of the 4 rear emblem designs printed today. The other two will get printed tomorrow and the pics installed will follow soon after. All I need to do now is get the grille dimensions transfered over to the larger "toyota" emblems. I made some final changes to those as well that really gives them a clean finished look with no awkward dead space. Here's the pics of the TEQ emblem installed on the yota grille.

I'm not sure if you guys in the states have the "twin cam" badge on the side of the old (pre 95" ) grill but I'd like a teq badge to fit there.

Not the best pic but that's it's location

I could definately make a TEQ badge that would bolt right into that spot and would wrap around and into the grille to look like it's supposed to be there. I would need that style grille to work off of. That may be a challenge if that style grille didn't come on 80's here in the US. I know that grille (without the holes) came on the 94 and older models but if it needs to mount into those factory holes then I would need that specific type of grille. I could probably make it so the emblem could be mounted to any pre 95 grille in that location.

That looks really nice. I agree with Jose, take my money please!! Put me in line for one of the TEQ badges for a '97 LX - George

Thanks for the reply and love the teq emblem you just finished.
It isn't at all nessercery to add lugs I'd just stick it on.

Perhaps about half to 3/4 the size of the center badge would look best but I'm open to input on that so it was to everyone else's taste too.

Nice! :bounce:

These look outstanding.

It's not really orange. It just looks orange in the bad lighting with a crappy camera. One of the tabs got messed up as well when my 3 year wanted to see how it would hold up to my framing hammer. I wasn't paying attention when I was out in the garage with him. NOT a good idea with a 3 year old and tools. I will be printing all of the TEQ emblems in this color. I really like how bright it is and how it helps pop the gray letters.

I stopped my 3 YO daughter from doing something similar with a ball peen in the garage last month. Good times. I hope she gets in to wrenching (before she turns 14 and all hell breaks loose).

I like what you doing...keep it up.

I'm getting close to being ready to start taking orders. I have the new printer ordered and I want to do them all on it. That way I can run in even higher quality settings and in the higher quality ABS plastic and at faster speeds. I just don't want to take anyone's money until I have perfect prints in my hand and I know the new printer is working perfectly. I'm also realizing that the interest is grown quite a bit. It will definitely take me some time to print out all these orders. I will simply have to start a new thread and print orders in the order the payments come in. (not including the handful of preorders I took from an old thread)

Maybe we can start an official list going for those SERIOUSLY interested in ordering once you're ready? I'll start.
