Well subject says it all....here are the specs that changed.

The rear increase 2 3/4 inch and then we raised the front coilovers for another 2 1/4 inch front lift....what a difference!

Here are some before and after pics:

If I had this clearance in Anza-Borrego , I would not have any rear bumper damage!! Also would not have had the damage is Christo would make me my rear bumper!

The ride is a little bit stiffer then before. I am going to reserve the final verdict on if I am going to go with the OME rear shocks VS the Radflos for a little bit. Also MIGHT change the rear springs to the OME 2" NO LOAD springs....depends how these 'break in'.

It would be great if Chimyz could chime in with some pics and what he did to raise his.

Here's what I added:

Medium Front Springs with 2" lift - Pt#703
Front Shocks - Pt#N208S
Spring Trim packers (front only) - Pt#OME95PFS
Medium Rear Springs with .75" lift - Pt#OME722
Rear Shocks - Pt#N209

and finally with OME all around:

Slowly getting taller. I think that the next step with slightly bigger mud tires (not anytime soon) will add another 1/2" to 1" in height.

I had the OME 440 constant springs on for a while...great when the rig was loaded up, but harsh for daily driving. I re-evaluated the amount I would be towing and hauling and decided to go down to the medium OME springs. I'm sure dtt255 will end up going that way too...unless Slee gets around to making that rear bumper.

I don't know if I will be switching to the rear NO LOAD springs...because that would basically bring me back to stock height in the rear. There doesn't seem to be a 2" rear spring lift.

Did the no load OME springs give you over the documented .75 " lift?

We have to keep in mind that the OME 2" front spring would only bring me back to stock...because of the ARB bumper.
(When are they going to come out with that dang transparent aluminum form Star Trek??!)

I might change to the OME rear shock, if I find the Radflo's to tuff.

Also I am going to try airing the rear tires down about 5 psi to make the rear a bit more level. Easier, cheaper and should make the ride a bit softer in the rear.

ok...upgrades look very nice on both but the tires now look kinda small.

After the Hollister trip, I decided to install the BFG KM2 tires with everything else still original Toyota eqiuip. Proabably good on mud but have to see how it handles in the snow. Still hesitate to pump money on after market products since I know I will want another LC when Toyota redesign.

Those look nice....but the question is do they rub at all on tight turns?

They just redesigned the LC for this year, it will most likely be 4-5 years before another redesign.

I got more lift than OME documented...about 3" from stock on front, and about 1-1/2" on the rear...it may sag to the 2" and .75" they have listed, but so far so good.

Also, the springs I put in the front should work with the ARB bumper and not sag too much (there is reported almost 1/2" sag from the guys in Australia who have this same set-up). These were the heavier option...100 lb constant. Add a winch to that and then their may be a bigger change.

Airing down would work...for your safety though, please air back up if you have the thing loaded. Don't need any blow outs on the forum. :)

Just ran out and did measurements in -10deg and 6" of snow...

Perpendicular to level ground, from centre of axle to bottom of the fender:
Front = 22.75"
Rear = 23.5"

It would be nice to get yours DTT255 and maybe someone who is stock to compare. A good point of reference for others looking for a lift.

dtt255: I'm curious: What is your front suspension droop with your new lift height?

Sorry guys, I'm a bit confused here.

DTT: You just added OME springs to the radflo rear shocks. Did you not have radflo rear shocks before? I thought you did, but with stock springs...

When I asked chimyz about this earlier, he said as a word of warning NOT to use any other spring with the radflow rear shock because it would bump it up to the max and ride horribly.

Obviously both correct me where I am wrong, but I thought that is why Chimy switched over to OME, whereas you DTT are sticking with them.

From the pics, are either of you at 3" lift? It was my understanding that at 3", other things would need to occur (such as brake line extensions, new joint anglee maybe, etc.

I'm very curious then why Chimy went away from radflo.

EDIT: And DTT, at that height, what would be the problem with 35" rubber??? How much upward travel do you still have? (i.e. if you put it on a lift, would the tires have any sag or are you at the very top of the shocks.

Guys,
I have the OME suspension fitted to my GXL TTD for a comparison. The rear springs are OME 722 wth N209 shocks.(same set up as chimyz).

On the front there are the OME 702 springs and N208S shocks. (ARB Deluxe non winch bar fiited).

Measurements taken off detailed on the OLD MAN EMU Suspension Warranty Form are as follows.

Ride Height Measrements / Rim to Guard (mm)

Before fittment ...............After Fitment
737 .... 729 ............... 785 .... 780 ........ FRONT

817 .... 810 ............... 833 .... 832 ......... REAR

This may help out or confuse more:cheers:

So even though you had the bull bar up front you still got a 2" lift?

Even with the weight ?
