Include a winch with new bumper? Pros, cons, why?

That sounds great, Matt. Some time after the holidays. I probably won’t have the mods done until sometime after the holidays. But I would love to do that. Going through some further practice with @Taco2Cruiser at LCDC would be great as well. Nothing like practice to prep for a possible emergency.

OK. It is down to the Warn Zeon Premiere or Platinum. Any input on which?

Platinum means wireless remote ONLY.

That is somewhat concerning to some (myself included). I took what felt like a risk in going with Platinum.

It’s been rock solid after an initial hiccup where they soon replaced ALL remotes upon request.

Aspects I love-
The ability to release, spool out, lock gears...pull, & spoil inwithout ever reaching inside the bumper or (with a partner) even exiting the driver’s seat...is pretty nice in the field.

But as others rightly note, the higher the tech reliance...the more concern over reliability. Mine has never failed to connect within about 2 seconds of turning it on (literally about 2 seconds).

Just as I asked regarding whether ARB’s Linx could still have wired buttons at the same time as techno-convenience... it’s a choice tou’ll want to take into consideration.

FYI I bought a wireless remote for my VR12S for $130. It worked spooling my winch in and out at home, then promptly failed on the trail. Warn replaced it, but I was very glad to have a hard line available to me. If you get the wireless remote you can leave the receiver attached (I didn't, but apparently you can...) so you don't need to insert/remove it but once.
