Good morning everyone, this is my first time posting and STOAKED to be part of this forum. I just recently purchased a LHD HDJ80 in a 1hdt motor couple of months ago and been slowly working on it. I currently at a roadblock. my Water temp sender (1pin) recently went out and also the ECT temp sender (2pin). I tested the wires and the instrument cluster for the water temp and those are solid so it is the temp sender unit. I am having a hard time finding the correct part for both of these sender units and the pigtails that go with it ( my pigtails were trashed) I can find the water temp sender but when I purchased one and switched it I felt the unit is not going all the way in and didn't want to push my luck and ruin the threads. furthermore for some reason I cannot find the correct ECT sender unit. I recently purchased one on
eBay but it was to small of threads when switching them out so I am out on that. called cruiser outfitters and they do not carry those two parts. Any help would be appreciated and reaching out to those who have any clue where I can find these two pieces and pigtails. Thanks in advance yall and hope to be seeing some of ya at cruisemoab this year!!!
Its impossible to find. I SCOURED for a week, used ai and every weird plug site and came up with nothing a few months ago.
Many before us have tried:
I'm looking for the name and part number of the sensor in the middle of the picture. It's the sensor/switch that turns your AC off when the engine is overheating. I've read every thread about the sensor and it's function and how to test it, but can't figure out how to buy one.
I've been looking for two weeks and cannot seem to find an actual name or part number for it!
Anyone?
I'm trying to resolve this problem:
I cannot find a definitive ID for the connector for the sensor (88790-60050). The closest I can get is 90980-10156,
but the locating pin inside the housing is on the wrong side and the terminals listed are 6.3 and mine measure, at most, 3-mm.
So, I'm looking for a definitive ID of both the housing and terminals for it. It's marked ND on the seal on the rear of the housing, but that seal doesn't want to peel away and looks like RTV filler to boot.
Toyota offers the connector housings, and a repair wire, which has about...
I also randomly found this MR2 video, looks like same connection and I saved it for future self to review his "work around".
I was able to heatshrink mine together, get new terminals and reuse the rubber plug, thank fully.
My solution if non of those worked was to find a new sensor, more common denso plug with the same temp/ohm range and hope it worked.
On the 1FZ its only for the AC cutoff, so nothing mission critical.
God speed, sir.
