In need of an HDJ81 alternator in Moab. Any help appreciated!

Hi everyone,

The past couple days I've been driving from NH to Moab and about an hour outside of Moab my alternator stopped charging. Wondering if anyone in the area has a spare I could buy. I believe I could use one from a FZJ80 as well, also would be willing to throw in a sequoia alt if anyone has the bracket on hand.

Trying to not lose too much time on this trip so any help or advice is appreciated!

Looks beautiful but I've reached out to them before and its $1000 and 1-2 week lead time.. so no dice this time!
 
Maybe try calling around to rebuild shops and have them rebuild it.
 
Does anyone know if 2004 sequoia/tundra alternators can be installed by modifying the factory adjustment bracket?
 
I'm pretty sure the 1fz alternator will work, just has the B+ post facing downward instead of up word.
 
Just an update, got the FZJ80 alternator I listed a few posts back and installed it this morning. It was pretty straight forward but I did need to modify the adjusting bracket. But its all back together and charging again, so thanks everyone for the advice!

Nice! Sucks you had to deal with this so far away from home. Kinda reminds me of the days when I used drive a Range Rover, while I waited for the 80 series to become more affordable!!
