Hello took a trip this past weekend in a friends car which created and "in car wifi" (cadillac cts). He said it came with the car; it does cost him but he says its bundled with his business. Anyone have a similar set up in their car? ifso what unit are you running etc. Now a little info incase you are asking why do you need it if you have a cell phone. I currently have a iphone 3gs and once I was in the wifi it was much faster and streaming of movies was instant. Not really interested in stuff streaming for me however for passengers on long trips it would be nice to have this.

sounds like a good reason to tailgate caddys. heh...;)

wow topic got moved??? hey this is real TECH lol; I dont know if there is any aftermarket products for this but I really liked it. we were doing 90 on the turnpike and the streamig was instant. cant do that on a 4g phone

You can buy the Autonet wifi for $485 from amazon and then pay $29/mo for 1gb or $59/mo for 5gb, it runs on Verizon.

Or you can get a MiFi hotspot (mobile wifi) directly from Verizon for free and pay $35/mo for 3gb, $50/mo for 5gb or $80/mo for 10gb (all require a 2 year contract).

Or you could buy an Android on Verizon and ditch the Iphone, or wait for the Verizon Iphone in the next few months.

My Verizon Droid X has way better/quicker service than my brothers AT&T Iphone 4g in this area. I could actually use my Droid as a wifi hotspot for up to 5 devices at a time for $20/month, or if I were brave enough to root (kinda like "unlocking") it, I could do it for free.
