Can I get front mud flaps that fit once I yank the running boards off? And will either Slee or 4x4 labs bumpers fit around all that plastic? I want a LC -- but I've found a total deal.... Thanks for any wisdom.

Welcome to the board.

Yes, you can get front mudflaps.

Yes, Slee bumpers can be fitted to both ends,

I dunno about the rest of you, but I hate my mud flaps. I can't get some stains on the rubber from the mud, off the flaps themselves. I think this makes my truck a little but more crappy lookin'. I dunno why I still have them on...

Sammy,
You have a modified 80 series and you are worried about mud stains on the mudflaps?

Supertosser - welcome to the addiction, I mean forum :flipoff2:

I cut the flap part off with an exacto, so they still look good when they meet up to the fender flare.

I like my 80 to look nice and yet still be a beastly truck... thats how I am, its an obsession...

I'm with Sammy. Front flaps gives the cruiser a Dumbo look. No runners or sliders, looks like you got a scaled down, cheap version of the real deal. JMHO.

No offense to those described above :D. "We" all know it's cruiser, who cares what everybody else thinks anyways, right??

What's wrong with all you newbs??? :slap:
That's not plastic -- it's body armor!!! :D

The stuff will fit fine. The LC front and rear mudflaps will fit the LX. The rear mudflap looks real dumb if you try to use it with the slee rear bumper. The OEM LX bumper is wider all around than the LC rear bumper, so the opening for the LX mudflap is larger.

Who cares about mudflaps anyway...they just get in the way on the trail...

Just out of curiousity, how much are you folks trimming off the mudflaps? Just above the "Landcruiser" word?

thanks all! anybody got a pic of any better rear bumber on a 450??

how the hell do I attach pix?
tried the attachment thang, but no dice -- someone PM me with the info...

I've had troubles too. I figured it had something to do with the server and far-walls here at work. No luck on avatar or pics.

Maybe it's an LX thing :o.

I've always thought it'd be a great idear to have a newbie orientations FAQ, with some general post information and maybe a list of commonly used accronyms FWIW, IMHO, and maybe some generally accepted curse word substitutes to keep a man off the "watch it" list (Fawker, sh!t, etc..). IOW, are you okay by saying hell.. :slap:, :D?

Feel free to share if you figure out the pic deal.

Still,

Some how got the thang to work...could've been the way I had the file named.
Here's one of my LX w/o flares.

This one's more of a close-up...

You're going to have to remain "rookie" forever if you don't recognize THAT tire.....
