I am trying to go back to original semi- electronic dizzy and ignitor on my 77 2F, replacing delco dizzy. I have SEARCHED and I have a wiring diagram but I am still confused (doesn't take much). Here is what I have:
Connections on ignitor
1) Red wire with green plug. I am sure this goes to dizzy.
2) White wire with green plug that is grounded to mount bracket. I think this is for radio suppressor.
3) Black wire with round plug connector. Don't know where this goes.
From wiring harness I have only one loose wire.
1) Heavy black wire with yellow stripe. This was connected to + coil on old setup.
Questions:
1) Where does black ignitor wire go?
2) Where does B/Y wire go. There is a + terminal on top of the ignitor and of course the + coil terminal.
3) Is the B/Y wire from the harness the only wire I need since the wiring diagram shows on from the ignition switch and one from the starter?
Thanks. Would sure like to get this going today.

1) - side of coil
2) This is the power feed to the ignitor. It connects on the key side of the ballast resistor and not the coil side because it needs the full voltage.
3) This wire also connects to the key side of the ballast resistor because it is the power feed from the key. The wire from the starter is the ballast bypass and connects to the coil +.

Here is a schematic from a 78 that is close enough.

Thanks Pin - Looks like I need to pigtail the black and yellow and take one lead to the + coil and one to the + terminal on the ignitor. Is this correct?

here are pistures of my 1975 Coil/Ignitor. It should be somewhat similar.

Which black yellow? Notice in the picture above that the large black/yellow connects to the ballast resistor on top of the ignitor. The white lead from the ignitor also connects here. The other side of hte resistor connects to the + side of the coil. The b/y wire from the starter also connects here if you have the ballast bypass wire. You may also find a radio interferance suppression condenser attached here too.

Im bringing this back cause I am wiring my ignitor coil pack.
When looking at the pics above which side is the positive on the coil, which is neg?
will it hurt anything if the coil was wiried backwards? cook the coil?
mine runs now, but my wiring does not match the pics. just trying to get it correct.:bang:
thanks 303G.
