Probably doesn't belong here, but this is where the knowledge of the vintage japanese steel seems to be, maybe its chat though.
Found this truck amongst all sorts of mine relics. I had hoped it was an old toyota utilty truck, but I think it might be datsun. None of the emblems are there and I didn't find a body tag. Some interesting features though. Met someone who knew the owner, unfortunately he died last year and the estate is in question. Saddly there is a good chance it will all go to scrap, be smashed, or stolen. A shame because I find myself tempted to put this old diesel dump truck back together. Other than smashed glass it is all mostly there. IMG_0340a.webpIMG_0342a.webpIMG_0347a.webpIMG_0356a.webpIMG_0349a.webp

Cool. Thanks Paul. So that makes it a diesel isuzu elf built between 1960-65. Clearly my search skills are lacking.
I will see it I can save it. Not sure if I can get ownership/papers though. The prev owner is gone, and he likely never had the papers for it, if it ever was road legal here. There are a lot of great items at the old mine that should be saved, would be nice to see it happen.

No need to stop, there was a similar thread in chat if you want me to move it over though.

I like Herby and the Lister, wonder how many of these pieces would run with a little tinkering?

old car looks chev to me. i love that little crawler; seems to be a horizontal single piston. and tracks are better than my D6 haha.
