ICON Stage 3 Kit (1 Viewer)

I have a '96' HDJ81 and ordered a new ICON Stage 3 Kit for it 10 months ago. The folks I bought the kit from can not give me any news how much longer. I am being told they can not get an answer. I know because of Covid we have had supply issues but what is the lead time from ICON? Is this reasonable timing? Any and all suggestions would be great. Thanks

I’d cancel the order. Icons are not worth the issues. Some people have good luck, others have shocks that leak every 6 months. There’s lots of good brands in that price point

If they're still having "COVID" supply chain issues, something tells me they're just not doing an overall good job of getting their ducks in a row. Back 7-8 years ago, they were one of the top dogs in the aftermarket shocks game. Present day, the sea is red, rife with competition, who seem to be putting distance between them like Fox (OEM), Kings and deep pocketed ARB backed brands like OME.

I'd honestly just call up Cruiser Outfitters and see what pkg they can put together for you unless you're married to ICON products. The whole "stage x" thing is just a bunch of mktg bollocks. There is no one manufacturer that supplies all the necessary parts to complete a nicely sorted lifted 80 anyways.

I'd call up ICON and ask what the deal is.
1) They may have real issues (most likely they don't) and you'll hear it directly from them.
2) If they have a dealer that isn't delivering they would love to know about it.

You'd be surprised how many shops rob Peter to pay Paul and are on the verge of closing their doors or having accounts go into default. Just go straight to the source.

I have over 70k miles on my "Stage 3" Icon kit. They've been outstanding. I know the rebuild cycle is supposed to be around 30K, but I subscribe to the "if it ain't broke and leaking, wait till it's broke and leaking" theory. I'd just call up Icon and ask if they have a manufacturing delay. Sounds like the vendor you chose is just lazy.
