Since it's out on the internet now (on another site), and some of you most likely know already anyways, Sass had a pretty bad accident in his Mercedes.
When he's ready to speak up I'll let him fill in the details himself. But for now he's pretty beat up, his truck is fubar'd and unsure whether or not it's even recoverable.

I know my 19 year old was inches from death this summer, he is lucky to be alive...could care less about his car...

As cliche as it is to say, trucks are replaceable (even cool ones), just glad you made it out of there.

thanks Jeff for posting this and thanks everyone for the kind words. i'm actualy pretty good now as the accident happned over two weeks ago. i am truly lucky to walk away from that. my injuries were reletavely minor. had two black eyes and some cuts to my face and head. my forehead sat about two inches forward and so did the left side of my head but those went away almost by the time i got home from hospital. my neck and spine were prety hurting too for a few days but thats to be expected as it was quite a harsh ride. but the time the truck was at the bottom, i was the only thing that still was in the cab. everything else was ejected. LOL. i was with a budy and we had to walk out 15 k in -20 weather at night and that wasnt fun either.

there is allot of interesting details that would make a great camp fire story.

Mat i know you are a genious but could you not advertise the location of my truck unitl i get it recovered???

i'm almost all good but the truck not so. yes you are very correct. the camper held up amazingly well. the outer skin is pushed in where it hit the ground but no sturctral damage that i could see. sort of just some minor dents really. even though its all aluminum cosntruction, its is ment and rated to handle roll overs but nothing this harsh and not on a rig this big as it was ment for a smaller unimog U1300L so acutaly i'm very impressed. it may have saved my life. i lost consiouness but i do recall the first hard hit that took me out. again i have to remind mylself how lucky i am to walk away from that.

Sas, I am very sorry to learn of your accident. We wouldn't wish for that to happen to anybody. By the looks of your truck, you are lucky to be alive and kicking. I hope ICBC gives you a good settlement and you find a replacement.

thanks bill. yes lucky is realy the key word here. sadly i did not have collision insurance so it is all my lost.

thanks. ya not bad. i think my ego is going to take a long time to heal though.

funy you say the off camber ice. it wasnt that bad but maybe just enough with that much ice. the crapy part is that i looked at my budies face as i was sliding down (he was not in the truck) and i acutaly though that hey man you are just going to watch me die. seriosly. that is what came to mind before the impact.
