I just found this trolling Jalopnik. Not sure if this is local news at home. I try to keep in touch but
this one hasn't hit CTV or CBC as near as I can tell. I know that ICBC stopped or is gonna stop covering
these expensive cars with the same basic coverage as regular folks. So I read the article. I can't even
begin to have much sympathy for a 30 year old, living in China, who drove a $250K car for two whole
weeks before crashing and won't pay for her own ineptitude. I've seen enough entitlement coming
from rich foreigners so for me, it's just a good laugh. I feel for the people who worked on the car,
who are owed money. Entertaining anyhow.

its been a couple months now that this has been going on, read about it in times colonist

Umm, makes an interesting story, but it doesn't say ICBC wouldn't cover an exotics repair anymore. Someone not having their own cars repairs covered by basic insurance after an at fault crash as far as I know would be true if it was a $2k civic as much as it is for a $200k DB9. :meh:

Yeah, ICBC had a thing about a month ago. No more basic coverage for cars over $100K or $130K
Not fair to the general population of drivers. So they are having to go private.
I guess what got my a bit pissed is a 30 yr old, living in China, having a car worth the price of a small
house, and basically having the attitude of being able to throw the car away..cause obviously money
isn't the issue.

I wasn't able to get private comprehensive/collision insurance on my Cruiser last time I went in. Newer vehicles, yes, but not for my BJ60. At least not from the Private company that Island Savings deals with anyways.

Well... I guess we'll all need to get private coverage on our cruisers ;) since ICBC won't cover them anymore.

Megson Fitzpatrick likely is the best option it yours is over 25. Most others won't touch the oldies.

I just put comprehensive/collision on my BJ74 after I just finished clearing the inspection. I don't think
I have it on the 60. I was thinking of upgrading the 60. I'll go see when I get home and let you know.
