...but now I'm really diggin' the pizza cutter thing.

Such a classic look plus there's the psi argument.

Now that 9.5" is no longer an option I'll probably end up with 33" x 10.5" BFG ATs.

Anyone running skinnies here?

Wish we could get those tires in the first picture, very popular over seas..

What are they? A little home-brew siping on those lugs with a box-cutter and we'd be good all year here.

I loooove pizza cutters. Or at least the closest we can get here.

Going from something like a 33×12.5 to a 255 85r16, (which is actually slightly taller than a 33) and you gain a gear with a 3b truck. A lot easier to push.

One of these days I'll throw some m55s in that size on my 61, then I can pretty much forget about tires for the next 10 years...

my little 31's are practically new, so it's hard to justify the expense, and the rim thing is a pain in the ass...so I'm in a holding pattern about it all..

I'm another big fan of skinnies. Great tires for 99.5% of what I need to do. Only things I don't like about them is lack of floatation in very soft deep snow or mud (which I avoid anyhow), and they do seem more prone to slipping sideways when on a steep angle or large rocks. But the benefits outweigh the drawbacks in my opinion. I agree with seapotato, 255/85R16 is an excellent size. I run 235/85R16 because I tow a camper trailer, and it keeps the gearing better. But even those tires get me everywhere.

Just mounted up a set of KM2s 285 75 16 onJDM rims, the 61 will have enough power to push these tires. Super crappy wet coast winter tires, I should had them sipped.

Any opinions on sidewall flex when aired down a bit?

They get a ittle sketchy at 8 psi, someone on the trail pointed out on a side hill my rim was to almost touching dirt, foled right over and still holding air.

On 5.5" rims? I never went down to 8 on my 4Runner. Somehow I always ended up at 12 psi on that rig.

Still, impressive that the bead held.

Must admit now I raised the staun tire deflators to 12 psi, 8psi is really nice in the snow.;)
