Just FYI Folks:

I done quit bein' the o'ficial secretarial-type person for TLCA. Hate bein' a quitter ... but my personal viewpoints on runnin' a club weren't worth a s*** for a club the size of TLCA and I weren't bein' constructive as an officer. They was in a bind when I volunteered but it just didn't work out.

I'm gonna stick to tryin' to keep The White Trash goin'. :cool:

For the record ... Mike's been doin' a great job as our TLCA delegate and will continue to do so. :beer:

that's one of the reasons we will miss him. anybody can take that hours worth of horse hockey, and make it entertainin' well by gawd that's a genious at work right there.
 
ain't been a lot of traffic 'bout this here decidedly unfortunate turn of events.
seems most the traffic is comin' from folks who wouldn'ta got the short side of your presidents understandin' of things as he see's 'em.
in other words, the very people who are responsible for the po-li-itcle situation here in this org don't seem too concerned that kowboy is leavin' his post to roam the range freely.
and that scares me. we are gonna have us a politically correct car club here real soon, and we need folks like kowboy. so, if you ever wanted to serve, nows a good time to step up and try to make that happen.
though it must be said most of the traffic has been beggin' your president to return to his post. he ain't gonna, but that don't stop them right minded folks from tryin'.

That's why I love WToE. There ain't no damn political ass kissin type bull****. You go wheelin, drink beer, life is good.
 
It takes a lot to herd cats. I haven't had a computer nearby, so this message is late.

WToE and LSLC have the right idea putting politics in the trash.
We're different because: We laugh at ourselves, we share, and we don't take email personal. Too many folks take this internet verbage to heart. They get their panties in a knot and pretty soon their bowels get plugged. As soon as all that crap gets backed up, they explode. It's messy.

I hope you'll consider writing self-help articles for the Trails, Kowboy. Think of it as casting your pearls to the pigs. ;-)

I don't interpret things quite the same Justin. I think a whole lot of folks knew there wouldn't be much point in beggin, since we all know when Kowboy's made up his mind about something, it's a done deal. That is the characteristic of a good President, not a Secretary.

As I said on bodreps, I don't think anyone should ask another man to lower his standards, and Kowboy has standards that don't abide well with the constant niggling and compromising that goes on in the BOD. I think he would have left sooner if it weren't for his high sense of loyalty and committment to participation.

I also don't think there's much chance of the BOD going PC anytime soon with guys like Roger, Mike, you and me to still stir things up!

Particularly when I am having a bad day and the BS overwhelms me, unfortunately I tend to ramble and it takes someone like you to sort it all out, thanks Mark.:)
 
well, mark. i guess that's fair enough.
and while i didn't beg him, i did ask. just once.
and i'm not a member of this here WTOTEC, i sure like it's outlook and people.

somtimes you gotta stop pandering to the masses and kick them in the ass to get things done. kowboy was (and is) an ass kicker.
and for that reason alone, i felt i should ask him. but just the one time.

This here's the prepared statement I done read at the TLCA BOD meetin' on Thursday night. :frown:

It’s with both shame … and pride … that I now resign my position as O’ficial Secretarial-Type Person. I’m SHAMED by the fact that for the second time in my life … I’m quittin’ somethin’ ‘fore it’s rightly done. But I’m PROUD that I’m quittin’ for what I believe is a damn-fine reason … stayin’ true to myself. I took this here gig ‘cause there weren’t nobody else at the time that would … and I just wanted to help. But damned if it didn’t become quite clear .. right quick .. that my viewpoints weren’t inline with the rest of the BOD and these viewpoints WEREN’T constructive for the direction TLCA’s headin’. Therefore … I ain’t got no bid’ness bein’ an officer. So with rare humility on my part … I now pass the torch to a Fella that I believe will do a better job than I.

When a Fella finds himself in deep water … it’s best to keep his mouth shut. Since I can’t do that … I humbly step aside. But just ‘cause I don’t fit in … don’t mean I don’t belong. Just not as one of the current officer positions. If’n some sorta position should arise within TLCA in the future that is more conducive towards my personality, I’ll welcome the opportunity to PAR-TIC-I-PATE again at that time.
