I was thinking about the bed, with it not designed to be open to the elements, not good. The rear panels are going to need some good sealing, maybe some alum. ones from BobM. The tailgate will need to welded up and sealed and some kind of water drains in the floor.

Minor problems in the big picture, just thinking out loud.

You are 100% correct and I have hit upon some of those areas in my head over the past. Let me share some of what Ive thought about.

The Bed Floor- I like having a wood slat bed truck.

Tailgate- Gutted out and sealed. Maybe have a compartment of some sort for tools but nothing heavy.

the bed is the trickiest part for me...wood is VERY functional, heck I was using it as backing for drilling custom light fixture adapters the other day- and a great place to paint stuff! I abuse the bed more than the pig! The other thing is the gas tank is going to keep the deck level high if you don't get creative with universal or custom tanks. ..like I said, tricky...

The fuel tank might stay where it is for now.

I start cutting on the Pig in the next day or two.

The front fenders are off the truck. Ive been doing some body work on the front end for now. Looking at paint options too.

Out of the blue Ive had three people ask me about the Cummins 6AT 3.4ltr. So I went ahead and had a fellow come over today (already expecting he wasn't going to buy it) and look at the engine. His words are, "WOW! Thats Small!". Then he wasn't interested anymore. Said he could buy 6BT's for 1500 all day long. So I told him to go buy a 6BT and stop wasting my time but most Ive seen for that price on craigslist seem more along the lines of a running core. Dude this is a 3.4 liter engine and those are 5.9's. What did you expect it to look like?
Anyway Ive already looking into a water/meth setup and intercooler being this truck won't be going off road.
