Hey all,

SO I have been looking for a while now for a 03 and up 100. I live in heart of the rust belt in Maine and I believe that rust will kill my 4runner before I ever will. I have found a 2000 lx with 155k with records on lexus owners website until 100k or so and the current owner has a binder full of current MX. However it is a rust free truck from California! The truck looks good in the pictures but I don't know how I feel about the 4 speed transmision.

Try and talk me out of it... And GO!

Gshroom,

The truck is in New Hampshire. It was brought back last year by a family member.

Pawwright,

I don't know if I would miss it at all either! I usualy stick to the speed limits around here.

I grew up in Maine. I know first hand how badly cars rust up there. here in Colorado, my 98 looks almost new underneath. Got to go west for used cars with no rust.

Emcd,

It is wild how fast they go. I bought my wife a low mile rust free Maxima and in 30k miles it has rust bubbles on the rear quarters. We both commute 60 miles a day to work all interstate travel so they get all the salt and brine the state uses liberally in the winter. The tow points on my 4runner ripped off while trying to get it on a flat bed when my upper ball joint separated. The cross member was rotten from the inside out.

Oh I remember it well. You never hd cars on the road older than 10 years. I have a buddy and his brother comes to Denver 6 times a year from MN to but rust free trucks. He sells them in hours when he gets them home.

Buy it! I still look at listings for fun and when I saw that come up I briefly tried to rationalize a 3rd vehicle. Love the green. 2000 is a great year. If the pre-purchase inspection checks out its a no brainer. They did the work for you bringing it out to the east coast- I had to fly to Arizona and drive back for my rig. What's the owners reason for selling?

Its a 3rd vehicle for them he just bought a new truck. Green is my second favorite color next to the burgundy color so its a win! It has had a fender and bumper replaced for a fender bender. I don't worry about that much at all as long as the truck has been maintained.

Looks like a great buy - rust free in New England is a unicorn. Have you seen it in person? No interior pics.

So I have spoken for it sight unseen. Looks like I will finally be a 100 owner. I had to sell a toy to do it but the kids will enjoy the LX more than a Mustang right now.

Will be couple of weeks I am on a 12 day string of night shifts lol. I might make a trip down if I am feeling frogy some afternoon.

That is a sweet looking rig. I'd be all over that one....and I'm in Texas (land of the low-cost, rust free Cruiser/LX).
