Sorry to hear that. I am from S.C. too but have lived here in the Philippines going on 3 years now. I have a 78 Fj40. Noob here as of today. Take care! :)

aw damn... sorry to hear it alex

Sorry to hear Alex. I never got to go wheeling with you. You can ride in the 62 anytime!

Best guy in the world to wheel with, hands down! Alex, I'll miss seeing you in that 40! Time for another project???

What a great truck you had and all the places it took you! Hate to see it go, but the memories and friends will stay!

Work and life have played a major roll in my cruiser fun as well over the past year. With the real estate market tanking my life changed into just survival. Almost had to sell the 80. Had a motor issue and haven't driven it for over 9 months. Couldn't afford to fix it. Then, i lost my best wheeling friend, Thatcher and life just didn't seem fair. I was ready to throw the towel in and just say screw it. Time is healing my heart and buisness is picking back up so now the motor overhaul for the 80 is in full force.

Reason i said all that is i hope things change for you and you are able to get your treads back on the trail.

Thanks for your comments Heather! No. No new projects for me at least for the near future. I have found that I have a lot of time to enjoy other things when I don't have to maintain my 40. As Alex stated, I have the greatest memories of fine friends and great times on the trails. I can still get on the trails with you all from time to time.

Alex:
Sorry to hear of your friends loss. I cannot imagine what you are going through. However, I glad to hear that you were able to weather the economic storm.

I look forward to seeing you all again soon.

I felt your pain on Saturday watching the Cado drive into the sunset. The guy that bought it is shocked that a truck that is so modified/crushed/rebuilt is driving better than most unmodified cruisers. It means the Cado likes him.

Now about those boxes on the table for the 100...

Being a literary person, and having heard your story regarding the name of your 40 Alex, I offer you one of the best closing lines from the story of how it got it's name...

‘I closed my eyes, head drooping, like a person drunk for so long she no longer knows she’s drunk, and then, drunk, awoke to the world which lay before me.’ –Don Quixote
