I love Jeep (but I want an FJ80 on the side)

Just a quick comment about child seats in second row. I am tall and so is my wife, so both front seats are all the way back. We have a newborn in rear facing seat and it will only fit in the center position without hitting backs of front seats. I have no doubt that you could get 3 forward facing seats side by side, but more than one rear facing seat would be tough in second row if parents are tall.

ENIGMA - a couple of members have offered to meet but I've been tied up with work, hopefully I can make it happen in the next few days.

FOREALBOREAL - HDJ81's diesel is sweet but the right-hand drive won't work. We are set on getting an 80 but I'll show Rob's truck to the wife and see if that changes.

PBWOOD - HDJ81. Again you try to tempt me. You'd be an outstanding crack dealer :D.

CACTUSCRUSHER - thanks for the info on the kids seats. My two are now in forward-facing/boosters and my niece (our unofficial third kid) sits in a booster so we shouldn't have a problem.

Well, the search is over. In a matter for days we should have our new to us Cruiser delivered :bounce::bounce2:. Has a bit higher mileage than we hoped for but it's built and optioned as we wanted and maintained. Good seller to work with and the past owner who built it was helping out with info/pics.

Cruiser arrived in Canada Thursday night and spent Friday going through the import process (inspection, daytime running light install, minor repairs) and delivered to me in the afternoon :D.

So what do I think after finally getting into the saddle? Who cares. It's the fact that my wife liked it so much that she's pleading her case to get to keep it as HER daily driver :bang: (safety for the kids, extra room for carpooling, etc, etc).

I think I'm going to have to find another one to get this one back from her .

Will post up pics once I clean her up (the Cruiser, not my wife).

Seems I forgot to put pictures of the 'Cruiser up.

Taken a few weeks after getting her. More pics / build thread to come.

With the sun coming out more I've almost convinced her to stick with her JK Unlimited.

Good luck with that!

Going backwards, LATCH wasn't really available in anything until 2001/2002 (depending on model years). I wish it had it, but I fit my 2 girls in their (forward facing) carseats in my 80 ok. They don't have much leg room, but they are short!

Did you put an anchor in for the tether strap off the top of the seat?

When my girl was little, I did put a tether strap and attached it to an anchor point located on the cargo drawer system.

Edit...nevermind. I wrote a big discertation only to see you had already made your purchase.
