Hi all and here is my story and my new to me rig.
Silver 2008 lx570.
After a couple of years looking at so many lx470 and a couple of landcruiser. A lot were overpriced with lack of history and adverts which were just too good to be true .
Then after much looking and researching decided to bite the bullet on this lx570 2008.
Very clean with all the bells and whistles.
Any upgrades will have to slow and lowkey . So not to anger the wife .

Same thing happened to me. I was looking at LX470s as well and realized the LX570s weren't that much more. These 08 LXs are an incredible value.

I think they’re part of ‘13 model year “refresh”. From what I can tell there’s ‘08-‘11 then ‘13-‘15 then 16+. There were technically no ‘12s. All post-‘11 LXs were marketed as ‘13+

I think it's random. My 08 has them and most LXs I've seen have them. I think it's pretty rare not to have them.

I actually like the clean look w/o the door guards.

When I had to use a parking garage with my LX, I received a few nice gashes directly under the door protectors. Nothing I couldn't fix, but I thought it was funny that they didn't do much. They are a nice styling element though.

Sliders do a pretty good job of making careless people pay.. as long as their vehicle isn't as tall as ours anyway.

I actually make sure mine is in squat mode for this exact reason. I opened my ‘04 Camry bomber door and hit the LX. It was at that moment I thought trim pieces are useless then the light went off. When in LOW they are more useful.

Look on ebay or aliexpress. They have some that I think are stick on. The OEM 13+ ones snap in through holes in the door panels.
