Managed to get a little welding time in. 3/16" body mounts. Cut some patch panels from one of the other tubs.

Not much to update..........everything else is the priority. :meh:
Did get the right side rocker and front floor in, looks about the same as the other side.

I was going to strip some stuff off the motor that came in the frame. The P.O. said it had a bad rod, but I figured maybe I better check to see if it's any good...................before calling it scrap.

So it didn't have a bad rod after all. Just needs a new head gasket:rolleyes:

I did have water coming out of the exhaust on my 68 F engine I had just rebuilt. I was given the wrong head gasket:bang:

Took off a few days this week to try to make a little progress on this. My daughter thinks I've gone backwards but to me it looks like just a little skinning needed to be one piece again!

Also on Friday got a couple floor patches in and cut and prepped the jagged hole in the back where a fuel tank was to put in a tool box.

Also blew out my back Saturday attempting to move the frame six inches sideways on a jack. :bang: We'll see, but could likely be the end to this project and most others.

Sorry to hear about your back Jim.:frown: The only thing I went out to shop for Friday morning was a inversion table on sale for $80. I think it is helping stretch my back out.:meh:

Don't give up on all projects. Sell this one if you must. Then pick up a FJ45. You wouldn't be sorry.

We need a update on your back. Keep us posted in the chat thread.

Take it easy Jim:cheers:

Jim, I know your back will be painful but this little anecdote may worry you more. While lying on my back for several weeks after a laminectomy (you can look it up) a few years back, I bought my 1965 FJ 40 and thus the chronic afflication or "Cruiseritis" came down up on me. Of course you and many other here already have this disease.

Get well soon.

Cheers Dobster

Jim, How's the back? and the project?

Cheers Dobster

seriously, how's the back, and what's been going on?
This is way to cool of a build!

Has it really been a year? :o

Back is good as it will be. Project has been pushed from one side of the garage to the other and back again as just about everything else has taken precedence.

Next Cruiser project will be the 95k service and headers on the wife's 100 which has been deferred 10k or so..................

Then who knows maybe another go at this over the winter?

I had to go in the project sticky to find this thread. Finally did some floors and a lot of patching. This tub is odd, things like the top cowl edge are bad but the rear channel is good. One more corner to go and I can move on to other things.............like fenders, bib and a hood.
