I have a 1973 fj40 and I am rebuilding the locking hubs on the front end. When I pulled them apart one hub had a pin to help align everything. Sorry for my lack of knowledge on this. The other locking hub didn’t have it. I have looked everywhere for this pins but I can’t find them. I don’t know how to find replacements and I am not sure how many there should be. Does anyone know where I can find these pins and how many I need.
thanks

I just had one of my warn hubs apart and there are two alignment pins, each 180 deg from each other

warn is usually good about parts - I would suggest calling their support hotline

It’s just a roll pin (looking at mine I just rebuilt). Local hardware store would probably have them if you took the one you have with you to compare.

That’s what I was thinking. Someone said that it had to be cold harden steel. Think roll pins are. Right?

No. Much more critical components will fail before that pin sees stress. And a properly lubricated and maintained hub will never put stress on that pin.

Thanks. That helps me feel better about not having the exact part. Thanks for your help.
