Hub beauty sleeve removal

Just picked up a ‘78 and looking to go back to stock wheels and hubcaps. Not sure what these sleeves are called, but I can’t seem to get them to budge. I tried some channel locks to no avail. Any ideas?

Only way ever worked for me (after f-ing it up anyway) cutting and pealing back like a tin can

Aftermarket wheel part. Start with tin snips and then try a cold chisle in your cut to peel it open. It will probably be loose enought when your 3/4 - 7/8 through.

Just for the fun of it would have taken a different approach. Hammer it all around where the cap contacts the hub to break the rust bond. Then a few vise grips on the ends. Use a slide hammer attached to the vide grips. Might not work but would be fun to see what happens. Slides off or tears the cap where the vise grips are.

2nd one was much easier. I sprayed with Kroil and let it sit for a few hours, then used a rubber mallot to hit the sleeve away from the hub. once i got a gap, used a flathead to wedge it off...
