I had a 74 v8 fj40 back in early 2000’s. Had a radical cam, a spring over, no traction bar and Detroit’s front and rear lol! We did rubithon a couple times like that and I “learnt” ALOT.
It was a love hate relationship!
Now decades later I just bought an all original 74 40. Runs and drives but I’m going thru all the age related issues. It’s an Arizona truck with no cancer! Rebuilt carb but need to find a better accelerator pump! Changed the original Toyota shocks but stripped the thread right off one of the rear upper shock post. it came with a brand new in the box never used Toyota branded CB radio in perfect condition! Super excited to start wheeling Arizona once I get a few more kinks worked out and the old AM radio working to drown out the noise of my giggling down the road. 79k original miles
